The Rebbe's teaching on why pure Torah education (chinuch al taharas hakodesh) matters so much, and on everyone's share in it:
The foundation of Jewish continuity. Kosher, pure Torah education is vital for Jewish continuity everywhere (IK 677, 2295, 3216, 3230), and in times of confusion it saves lives spiritually and physically (IK 2468). Pure education keeps children true to their heritage (IK 3207) and has an everlasting effect on the generations after them (IK 6077, 7318, 5900). The breath of schoolchildren learning Torah sustains the world (IK 6024). True freedom comes through pure Jewish education (IK 975), and self-sacrifice for it brings the redemption (IK 940).
Every child. No Jewish child may be left out; every child, whatever his background, must be reached (IK 224, 1477, 5357, 6120). Protecting children from harmful influences such as missionaries is a sacred duty of every Jew (IK 920). Educating young children, even teaching them the Alef-Beis, is an immense merit (IK 2655), and early childhood education keeps both children and parents within a Torah environment (IK 5918, 7243).
Everyone's responsibility. Every individual must personally invest time and effort in educating Jewish youth (IK 1453, 5951). A community should give pure education for children priority even over acquiring a Sefer Torah (IK 6129). Supporting Torah education, including girls' schools such as Beis Rivkah, is a sacred obligation for all (IK 1922, 056). Involvement in kosher education brings more mitzvos and blessing, including healing and nachas from one's own children (IK 2180, 569, 1883). Those qualified to teach should dedicate their abilities to it (IK 6331, 5823). Holy educational work brings joy Above and refines the educator (IK 6237, 7167).
