הגיעתני הטלגרמה שלו - בחתימת כת"ר וחתימת ידידנו הרה"ג והרה"ח הוו"ח אי"א נו"מ איש רב פעלים במעשי חייא וכו' מהור"מ שי' ליפסקער, - בברכה לחג הגאולה של כ"ק מו"ח אדמו"ר זצוקללה"ה נבג"מ זי"ע הכ"מ, וכל המברך יתברך בברכתו של הקב"ה שתוספתו מרובה על העיקר, אשר פירש בזה כ"ק אדמו"ר אדנ"ע (אביו של כ"ק מו"ח אדמו"ר הכ"מ, בצוואתו "חנוך לנער") שהיא ממשכת מבחי' אור אין סוף שלמעלה מסדר ההשתלשלות,
היינו שלבד זה שנמשך למטה כל מה שיש בשרש למעלה, כי מסירים כל המניעות ועיכובים ע"ז,
הנה נוסף ע"ז שנעשה רצון חדש ופוסקין לו תוספת חיים ברכה ושלום בעניניו, אמן כי"ר.
כן הודיעני בשורה משמחת, אשר יעשה ככל יכלתו בהשגת הויזא למדינתו בעד הרה"ג והרה"ח הוו"ח אי"א נו"מ וכו' מתלמידיו הותיקים ובא כחו של כ"ק מו"ח אדמו"ר הכ"מ, הר"ר בנימין שי' גאראדעצקי,
ולמותר לבאר לכת"ר ולדכוותי' עד כמה נוגע ההקדם בזה.
ואם בכל ענין של מצוה מאריך כ"ק אדמו"ר הזקן בגודל מעלת הזריזות, ומכריח זה כי "זריזותי' דאברהם אבינו ע"ה היא העומדת לעד לנו ולבנינו עד עולם כי העקידה עצמה אינה נחשבת כ"כ לנסיון גדול לערך מעלת א"א ע"ה" (אגה"ק סכ"א),
על אחת כמה וכמה, שגדולה מעלת והכרח הזריזות בענין הנוגע בחנוך, ובפרט חנוך של גדיי ישראל, ובפרטי פרטיות בעת צרה וצוקה כזאת, דרא דעקבתא דמשיחא, שאין לך יום כו', והחושך כפול ומכופל, והגלות הולך ומאפיל, וע"פ באור כ"ק מו"ח אדמו"ר הכ"מ, שלפני עלות השחר חושך הלילה גדול ביותר, - אשר רק התורה היא חיינו, ולימודה בהתפשטות היותר אפשרית הן בכמות הן באיכות, וביחוד לימוד פנימיות התורה, המאור שבתורה והזוהר שלה, הן הם סם חיים, שיחזקו את כל הלומדים והמתעסקים והמשתדלים בזה, עד שישבר השי"ת, בחסד וברחמים, את עול הגלות, וישראל נגאלין בצדקה, הכוללת בתוכה גם צדקה זו להחיות נפשות עניים, אין עני אלא כו' (אשר, מפני חושך הלילה, חלק מהם גם טועה לומר שאין זה עניות), והוא יוליכנו קוממיות לארצנו ע"י משיח צדקנו בב"א.
ולסיים בביאור ד"ת - הנה ענינא דצדקה בלילה כיון דאתי לידן נימא בה מלתא, במה שנשאלתי זה מכבר במה שכתוב בס' נגיד ומצוה (תפלת שחרית) אשר "בלילה אינו זמן ראוי לצדקה". ולכאורה, אדרבה, כיון שבלילה הוא ענין הגבורות, הי' ראוי להרבות בצדקה כדי להמתיקן... טרף לביתה.

Your telegram reached me—signed by your honor and by our friend Haraha"g veHaraha"ch vavac"h iy"a nu"m, a man of many deeds in acts of life etc., Rabbi M.M. shiyichyeh Lipsker—with blessings for the Festival of Redemption of my revered father-in-law the Rebbe zatzal nishmaso Eden. May everyone who blesses be blessed by Hashem with blessings that are even greater than the original blessing. The Rebbe Admor HaRashab (father of my father-in-law) explained in his will "Chanoch LaNaar," that this blessing draws from the level of Or Ein Sof (the Infinite Light) beyond the order of creation. Not only is everything that exists above drawn down below—since all obstacles are removed—but an entirely new will is created and additional life, blessing, and peace are decreed for him in his affairs. Amen—so may it be His will.
You also informed me with joyful news that you will do everything possible to obtain a visa to your country for Haraha"g veHaraha"ch vavac"h iy"a nu"m etc., one of his veteran students and representative of my revered father-in-law the Rebbe zatzal, Rabbi Binyamin shiyichyeh Gorodetzky. There is no need to explain to your honor how urgent this matter is.
If regarding every mitzvah matter Admor HaZaken elaborates on the greatness of zeal—stating that "the zeal of Avraham Avinu stands for us and our children forever because even the Akeidah itself was not such a great test relative to Avraham's level” (Iggeres HaKodesh sec. 21)—how much more so is zeal essential when it comes to education matters! Especially education for Jewish children—and particularly in times like these: an era of distress before Moshiach when each day brings greater darkness and exile deepens. According to my revered father-in-law’s explanation: before dawn breaks, night is at its darkest. Only Torah is our life; its study should be spread as widely as possible both quantitatively and qualitatively—especially study of pnimiyus haTorah (the inner dimension), which is Torah’s light and radiance. This is truly a potion of life that strengthens all who learn, engage with, or support it until Hashem breaks—in kindness and mercy—the yoke of exile. Israel will be redeemed through tzedakah (charity), which includes giving life to poor souls—for there is no poverty except… (and due to night’s darkness some even mistakenly think this isn’t poverty). May He lead us upright to our land through Moshiach Tzidkeinu speedily.
To conclude with an explanation in Torah: Since we have touched on tzedakah at night—it was asked long ago about what is written in Sefer Nagid U’Mitzvah (Shacharit prayer) that "night is not an appropriate time for charity." Seemingly it should be otherwise: since night represents gevurah (severity), one should increase charity then to sweeten it… “She brings food for her household.” See also end of Shaarei Tefillah by R’ Yaakov Rokach (Livorno 1870).
May your honor and your Torah increase; may you have long days guarding your sacred charge with abundant good. Wishing you all good always and awaiting good news.
