I was pleased to receive your letter from the 10th of Sivan, in which you write about your holy work—teaching our Torah, a Torah of life, to attentive students. The learning is imbued with Yiras Shamayim (awe of Heaven), and fruits of your labor are already visible. Certainly, in your next opportunity you will elaborate more regarding instilling Yiras Shamayim, which you mention only in general terms in your letter. It is specifically through awe preceding wisdom that a student’s wisdom endures—especially in our times of confusion and distortion of Torah teachings under the pretext of 'the power to permit is preferable,' allowing not just three things at once but more. All this necessitates learning that brings awe of Hashem, and this study is essential not only at the beginning or for a short time or as a conversation, but it must be incorporated into the yeshivah’s schedule so that each student is obligated to have a fixed time daily for it, under excellent supervision—as is clearly vital.

Regarding what you write about your personal matter: you should check your tefillin. Your wife should give some coins to tzedakah every weekday morning on Mondays and Thursdays, before lighting candles every Erev Shabbos and festival eve, and to tzedakah associated specifically with an institution for educating Jewish children in purity. By strengthening trust in the Creator of the world, may your heart’s wishes be fulfilled for good in joy and holiness.

Please convey regards... I am interested to hear about your good activities for raising the stature of Klal Yisrael—a necessity everywhere, especially in the Land upon which 'the eyes of Hashem your G‑d are from the beginning of the year until year’s end.'
