במענה למכתבו ממוצש"ק וב' קודמים עם המוסגר בו.
ידוע המבואר בכ"מ בדא"ח, שמצד ענין הבינה שבשכל אפשרי לבוא לידי מסקנות הפכיות בענין אחד אם לחסד או לגבורה, ורק הדעת החזק קובע בזה, וה"ה בהנוגע להידיעה אודותה כותב, בהמשך לקטע במכ"ע שמצרף למכתבו, ומה שלומד אני בזה הוא ההיפך ממה שלומד הוא, כנראה ממכתבו פעל זה עליו נמיכת רוח איך שמתחרים בהם וכו', ולדעתי המסקנא מזה הוא שתושבי... מכירים בהכרח חינוך תורני, אף שלע"ע אין מבחינים בין תכלת לקלא אילן, ואפילו למה שעוד פחות יותר, מקלא אילן, ובמילא עתה קלה יותר התעמולה בשטח זה.
ומסקנא בנקודה שני' עד כמה יקר הזמן בעניני חינוך, ולא רק מצד המתחנכים, שבאם אובדים יום אחד, מי יודע אם ישמע הילד-ה והוריו לדברים המבארים חינוך עטה"ק, אלא אפילו גם בהנוגע להמורים והעסקנים, שהרי עתה רואים בעליל, שבאם היו עוד מוסיפים יותר בענין התעסקות ב... היו כובשים עוד שטח ועוד שטח, ובמילא הי' מתמעט המקום פנוי, וכיון שאין צועקין על העבר, מובן שכוונתי בזה בהנוגע לעתיד, ובפרט אודות המוסד המתחרה שנדפס שאינו רק פעמים בשבוע, נותן להם האפשרית הכי גדולה להתפשט יותר ויותר, שהרי הכל מודים בחילוק עיקרי שאין דומה ביקור בבי"ס פעם בשבוע או ה' פעמים בשבוע, ובפרט שלאנשי חב"ד ישנו הענין דהקעמפ, המבצע דחג הסוכות שעבר וכו', והרי אפילו התועדות די"ט כסלו ויו"ד שבט יש לנצלם בכיוון האמור, וכמו שהסבירו רבותינו נשיאנו גם בהם תועלתו במעשה בפועל, ובהתועדות כאלו דברו רבותינו נשיאנו בהנוגע לחיזוק המוסדות וכו', וכמו שכתבתי זה כ"פ כיון שהנ"ל הוא דרישת השעה ב... פשוט שניתנו להם הכחות והאפשרית למלאות הדרישה במילואה.
ומזה מובן ג"כ שהתאוננות שאחדים מהמורים אינם מומחים כ"כ במקצוע החינוך וכו', אף שמובן שיש לעשות בזה לתקן ולשפר, אבל פשיטא שאסור ליפול ברוח, והוא נוסף על הענין שבודאי גם אצל האחרים לא מלאכי השרת מתעסקים כ"א בני אדם קרוצי חומר, הנה גם זה פשוט שאצלם אינה אותה המסירה ונתינה שבדידן, ועוד והוא העיקר, אין שם התעוררות ר"ר של רבותינו נשיאנו הק', וק"ל.
בהמשך לכל הנ"ל, הנה אחכה לבשו"ט שמוסיפין עוד יותר בהנוגע להקעמפ הבע"ל, ובאופן לנצלו גם להימים וחדשים שלאחרי זה, ומכש"כ וק"ו מאשתקד, וכן גם ע"ד חגיגת י"ט כסלו וניצולה וכן ימי חנוכה בכיוון האמור, והשי"ת יברכם בהצלחה מופלגה בכל זה מתוך בריאות הנכונה ובשמחה וטוב לבב.

Shalom u'Vrachah!
In response to your letter from Motzaei Shabbos Kodesh and two previous ones with the enclosure. It is well known as explained in many places in Chassidus that due to the aspect of binah (understanding) in intellect, it is possible to reach opposite conclusions on a single matter—whether for kindness or for severity—and only strong daas (conviction) determines this. The same applies regarding the knowledge about which you write, following the article you attached to your letter. What I learn from it is the opposite of what you learn, as is apparent from your letter; it seems this has caused you discouragement due to competition, etc. In my opinion, the conclusion is that the residents... recognize the necessity of Torah education, even though at present they cannot distinguish between tekhelet and kala ilan (true blue dye and imitation), or even something less than kala ilan; therefore, now it is easier to campaign in this area.
Another conclusion is how precious time is regarding education—not only for the students (for if even one day is lost, who knows if the child or their parents will heed words explaining Torah-true education), but also for teachers and activists. For now it is clear that had there been more involvement in this matter previously... more ground would have been gained and less space would remain open. Since we do not cry over the past, my intention here concerns the future—especially regarding the competing institution which was publicized as not being only twice a week; this gives them a greater opportunity to expand further and further. Everyone agrees there is a fundamental difference between visiting a school once a week or five times a week.
Especially since Chabad has the concept of camp (keamp), last Sukkos campaign, etc., and even farbrengens on Yud-Tes Kislev and Yud Shevat should be utilized in this direction—as our Rebbeim explained their practical benefit—and at such gatherings our Rebbeim spoke about strengthening institutions, etc., as I have written many times since this is clearly the demand of the time... It is obvious that they have been given both the strength and opportunity to fulfill this demand completely.
It also follows that complaints about some teachers not being so expert in education—while it’s understood efforts should be made to improve—certainly should not cause discouragement. Besides, obviously elsewhere too there are no ministering angels involved but rather human beings of flesh and blood; moreover—and most importantly—they lack the dedication found among us. Additionally, there is no arousal of mercy from our holy Rebbeim there—and this suffices.
Following all of the above, I await good news that even more will be added regarding the upcoming camp (keamp), utilizing it also for days and months afterward—certainly more than last year—as well as regarding Yud-Tes Kislev celebrations and their utilization, likewise Chanukah days in this direction. May Hashem bless you with outstanding success in all these matters with proper health and with joy and gladness of heart.
Summary
The Rebbe teaches that despite challenges from competing influences or imperfect staff, one must persistently strengthen Torah education using every available means—camps, events, daily efforts—and trust that G‑d grants both strength and opportunity for success.
