לאחרי ההפסק הארוך נתקבל מכתבו מכ"ח אייר, שנתעכב בהלוכו יתר על הרגיל.
ות"ח ת"ח על טרחתו לכתוב לי על תוצאות ביקורו בכמה מדינות בנוגע לשאלת ההפרדה. ובודאי לדכוותי' למותר להאריך בטענות המנגדים לענין ההפרדה שהן טענות בשכל אנושי הבאות להצדיק את העובדא או את הרצון. וכמו כל הענינים גם זה משתקף בתורתנו תורת חיים, גם להלכה למעשה, שמוצאים אנו בה ב' הוראות מן הקצה אל הקצה בענין זה: לא נחשדו ישראל כו' (קדושין פב, א); ואין אפוטרופס כו' (חולין יא, ב).
כמו כן בודאי למותר לעורר את כ' שינצל כל כחותיו לעסוק בענין ההפרדה גם להבא, שאף על פי ואת"ל שעתה עדיין קשה להגשימו, אבל אין אתנו יודע עד מה, והחוב על איש ישראל לעשות כל התלוי בו והשם הטוב בעיניו יעשה.
תודתי מיוחדה עבור הפ"ש ממוסדות חנוך החב"דיים שביקר, ובודאי גם זה למותר לבקשו לסייע בביסוסם והתפתחותם, והרי השפעת כ' מגעת בכמה וכמה מקומות ומשרדים וכו'.
ובהמצאנו למחרתו של יום הגאולה של כ"ק מו"ח אדמו"ר, אשר פרשת מאסרו ומס"נ שלו בטח ידועה לכ', יהי רצון שכל אחד ואחד בתוך כלל ישראל ימלא תפקידו המוטל עליו מההשגחה העליונה בשטח התורה והמצות בכלל, וביחוד בחינוך על טהרת הקדש, אשר תמיד היתה בעי' חיונית ועל אחת כמה וכמה בתקופתנו רבת המאורעות וביחד עם זה רבת הבלבולים וטשטוש המוחים והגבולים.
בכבוד ובברכה לבשורות טובות בענינים הכלליים והפרטיים גם יחד.

After the long break, your letter from the 28th of Iyar was received; it was delayed more than usual. Many thanks for your effort to write to me about the results of your visit to several countries regarding the issue of separation.
Certainly for your honor there is no need to elaborate on the arguments of those who oppose separation—they are arguments based on human reasoning meant to justify either the fact or the desire. As with all matters, this too is reflected in our Torah of Life—even in practical halachah—where we find two instructions at opposite extremes on this matter: "Lo nichshadu Yisrael..." (Kiddushin 82a; "The Jewish people are not suspected...") and "Ein apotropos..." (Chullin 11b; "There is no guardian...").
Likewise, it is certainly unnecessary to remind you to utilize all your abilities to continue working on the matter of separation in the future as well. Even if—and if you will say—that for now it is still difficult to implement, but none of us knows what will be; a Jew's obligation is to do all that depends on him and the good L‑rd will do as He sees fit.
My special thanks for conveying regards from the Chabad educational institutions you visited. Certainly here too it is unnecessary to ask you to assist in strengthening and developing them, since your influence reaches many places and offices etc.
As we find ourselves just after the day of redemption of my revered father-in-law, whose story of imprisonment and self-sacrifice is surely known to you—may it be G‑d's will that each individual among all Israel fulfills his task assigned by Divine Providence in Torah and mitzvos generally, and especially in education in purity and holiness—a matter always vital and all the more so in our eventful times which are also full of confusion and blurred boundaries.
With honor and blessing for good news in both communal and personal matters together.
