לאחרי הפסק ארוך נתקבל מכתבו מערב חג הסוכות זמן שמחתנו,
ומה שכותב בנוגע לדעתי אודות תמיכת הממשלה בישיבות וישיבות קטנות ות"ת המתנהגים על טהרת הקדש.
כבר פרסמתי הטעמים וגם נדפס בירחון המאור, אשר בודאי נמצא אצל כת"ר,
וכללות הנקודה - מיוסדה על מאמר חז"ל, לא חרבה ירושלים אלא בשביל שביטלו בה תשב"ר, ומי הוא זה ואיזהו אשר יערב לבו למנוע תמיכה כהאמורה, שבודאי עי"ז כמה מבני ישראל ובנות ישראל לא יוכלו להתקבל במוסדות האמורים, ואם בשביל בנין בית המקדש אסור לבטל תשב"ר עאכו"כ מפני חששות מדומים ועכ"פ רחוקים,
וראי' מוכחת איך צריכה להיות השקפת החרדים לדבר ה' בשאלה האמורה, גם מהמנגדים, שכל אלה שמלפני איזו שנים נלחמו בפאראקול סקולס וכל אלו המונעים שהפעדעריישאן של צדקה תתמוך במוסדות החרדים, וכל אלו הלוחמים נגד שיעור לימוד הדת בשביל תלמידי הפאבליק סקולס, נלחמים בכל תוקף נגד תמיכה האמורה, וד"ל.
ובודאי לדכוותי' האריכות בכל האמור אך למותר, ותקותי חזקה שינצל כל השפעתו ובתוקף המתאים לעזר תשב"ר חינוך בני ישראל על יסודי התורה שיהי' דרך דידן, ז. א. השקפת תורתנו תורת חיים, נצח. ואם המציל נפש אחת מישראל כאילו קיים עולם מלא עאכו"כ כשהמדובר בעשיריות מאות ואולי גם אלפים.
בודאי ידוע לכת"ר גם מפורסמי אגודת ישראל בהאמור הראשי ישיבות כאן וכו'.

After a long break, I received your letter from before Sukkos, the time of our rejoicing, regarding your question about my opinion on government support for yeshivos, small yeshivos, and Talmud Torahs conducted in purity and holiness.
I have already publicized the reasons—also printed in the Maor journal, which you surely have—and the general point is based on our Sages’ statement: "Jerusalem was destroyed only because they neglected the Torah learning of children." Who would dare prevent such support when it is clear that without it many Jewish boys and girls could not be accepted into these institutions? If even for building the Beis HaMikdash it is forbidden to stop children's Torah study, how much more so for distant or imagined concerns! The proof of what the perspective of those who are truly G‑d-fearing should be on this issue can even be seen from opponents: all those who fought parochial schools years ago, those who prevent charity federations from supporting religious institutions, and those who fight against religious studies for public school students—all fiercely oppose this kind of support. This should be understood well.
Surely you do not need lengthy explanation on all this; I strongly hope you will use all your influence with appropriate strength to help children's Torah education—the education of Jewish children on a foundation of Torah in our way: that is, according to our Torah of life—eternal. And if one who saves a single Jewish soul is considered as if he saved an entire world, how much more so when we are speaking about tens, hundreds, or perhaps thousands.
You surely also know about prominent Agudas Yisrael figures here among the heads of yeshivos etc.
