In response to your letter from the 29th of Tammuz, thank you for the good news about the increase in the number of students, both boys and girls, and surely there is also an increase in quality.

What concerns me is what appears from your letter that the age of the students is up to thirteen years old. It is understood that one must make every effort so that at least a significant portion will remain to study even after this age. And even if this is contrary to the custom of the country until now—in any case, one must strive and explain that being a teacher, shochet u'bodek (ritual slaughterer and inspector), and similar roles are also matters of livelihood; moreover, they are both material and spiritual livelihood together. Surely you will consult among yourselves and find a suitable explanation and an appropriate way to explain it, and salvation comes with many counselors.

You conclude in your letter that a number of students will travel to a colony for vacation. Surely, in addition to the teachers who will be with them regularly, at the beginning and from time to time you too will visit there. It is well known the advantage of someone who comes in and goes out—that even the possibility of this alone brings improvement.
