כבוד המשתתפים בחגיגת חנוכת הבית של ביה"ס והסמנריון "בית רבקה" יערש, צרפת ה' עליהם יחיו
שלום וברכה!
לקראת חגיגת חנוכת הבית של בית הספר והסמנריון "בית רבקה", הנני בזה להביע ברכתי לכל המשתתפים בשמחה של מצוה גדולה זו, ובראשם הרבנים שליט"א ועסקני הציבור שליט"א וכל מי שעזר והשתדל במפעל הגדול הזה, בין בגופו בין בממונו, הקב"ה ישלם שכרם וישלח ברכה והצלחה בכל מעשה ידיהם.
ידוע כמה הפליגו חכמינו ז"ל בכבוד נשי ובנות ישראל וכמה הדגישו גודל חשיבותן בחיי עמנו, עד שאמרו שכשבא הקב"ה לתת התורה לעמו ישראל, תורת חיים הוראה בחיי היום-יום, פנה אל הנשים תחילה, כדרשת רבותינו ז"ל: כה תאמר לבית יעקב - אלו הנשים, ותגיד לבני ישראל - אלו האנשים.
ואם בכל הזמנים והתקופות הי' כן, על אחת כמה וכמה בתקופתנו, אשר הסביבה ו"הרחוב" הם לא כמו שהיו לפנים ספוגי יהדות וחיי תורה אלא אדרבה, ולפעמים גם מנגדים ונלחמים בזה, וכל חינוכם של בני ובנות ישראל ברוח התורה והמצוה הוא במוסדות החינוך שעל טהרת הקדש ובבית פנימה. ורואים במוחש, שמפני כמה סיבות (תנאי החיים, טרדת הבעל בעניני פרנסה וכו'), החינוך שבבית תלוי בעיקר - בעקרת הבית אם הבנים.
ומכאן גודל ערך ביה"ס והסמנריון "בית רבקה" שמתפקידיו העקריים הוא לא רק לחנך מורות ומדריכות, אלא גם לחנך בנות ישראל לעיקר תפקידן - להיות עקרת הבית ולבנות את בית ישראל.
ועוד זאת בחינוך - שכל הטבה בילד או בילדה בקטנותם, ואפילו בפרט קטן, עלול לעשות שנוי עקרי בגדלותם, וכידוע המשל מגרעין הנטוע להיות אילן עושה פירות.
ובפרט כאשר המחונכים והמושפעים דהיום - הם המחנכים ומשפיעים דמחר.
והרי ביה"ס והסמנריון "בית רבקה" מאחד כל הנקודות האמורות.
ובודאי כל מי אשר לבו ער ליהדות ולטובתו האמתי של בית ישראל - ישתדל ככל האפשר לטובת המוסד והבנין על כל פרטיו, למען אשר גדול יהי' כבוד הבית הזה בבנינו וגם ועיקר - בהתלמידות אשר בו המחונכות והמושפעות, גדול באיכות וגם בכמות.
בכבוד ובברכה להצלחה בכל האמור.

In anticipation of the inauguration celebration for the school and seminary "Beis Rivka," I hereby express my blessing to all those participating in this great mitzvah celebration, especially the rabbis and community activists, and all who helped and worked for this great endeavor—whether physically or financially. May the Holy One bless them and grant success in all their endeavors.
It is well known how greatly our Sages extolled the honor of Jewish women and girls, emphasizing their importance in our nation's life. They taught that when G‑d came to give the Torah—a Torah of life and daily guidance—He first turned to the women, as our Sages expound: 'Ko tomar leBeis Yaakov—these are the women; veTagid liBnei Yisrael—these are the men.' If this was true at all times, how much more so today, when society and "the street" are not as they once were—suffused with Judaism and Torah life—but often oppose or even fight against it. The education of Jewish boys and girls in Torah spirit depends on institutions founded on holiness—and on what happens within each home.
It is clearly seen that for various reasons (life circumstances, a husband's preoccupation with livelihood, etc.), home education depends mainly on the mother—the mainstay of the house. This highlights the great value of Beis Rivka School and Seminary, whose primary mission is not only to train teachers and counselors but also to educate Jewish girls for their main role: to be homemakers who build Jewish homes.
Furthermore, in education every improvement made for a child—even a small detail—can cause a fundamental change later on, as is known from the parable of a seed planted to become a fruit-bearing tree. Especially since today's students will be tomorrow's educators. Beis Rivka unites all these points.
Certainly anyone whose heart is awake to Judaism and truly cares for the welfare of Jewish homes will do everything possible for this institution's benefit—in every detail—so that this house's honor will be great both in its building and especially in its students—the educated girls—in both quality and quantity.
