מע"כ שי' בביקורו פה, נוכח לראות ולדעת את פעולות מרכז הישיבות תת"ל בשדה הרבצת תורה ויראת שמים טהורה בחוצות קרי'.
אבל למרות גודל ההצלחה ברוחניות, הנה המצב החומרי של מרכז הישיבות תת"ל בעת הזאת קשה וחמור, החובות עלו למעלה ומזעזעים הם את קיומן של הישיבות.
ובזה הנני פונה אליו, עפ"י מרז"ל (ספרא ר"פ צו) אין מזרזין אלא למזורזין, בבקשה להשתדל בכל האפשרות לעזור להרה"ח וכו' מוהר"י שי' הלוי וויינבערג, למען אשר יצליח בשליחותו חשובה הנ"ל, ומובטחני אשר לדכוותי' אין צורך בביאור גודל דבר החזקת תורה תמימה ביראת שמים בכל הזמנים, ובפרט בזמננו זה דעקבתא דמשיחא, אשר חכמת סופרים (אף שישנה, אבל) נסרחה (כדבר שאין בו חיות, מפני ש)יראי חטא נמאסו, (כמרז"ל שבת ל"א סע"א: קב חומטין כו' ומתליע, והסיבה למיאוס זה הוא, כי (האמת) דאמר קרא ויצוונו הוי' לעשות את כל החוקים האלה - ות"ת בכלל - ליראה את ה"א) נעדרת.
אתענין לדעת מההמשך למה שנדברנו בהיותו כאן, ומהסתדרותו בטוב.

The chassidic Rav, vavac"h iy"a nu"m, a man of good deeds supporting Torah Temimah etc., Moreinu HaRav Yosef HaLevi Weinberg, has recently traveled to your country on behalf of the Central Yeshivos Tomchei Temimim Lubavitch. During his visit here, your honor witnessed firsthand the activities of the Central Yeshivos in spreading Torah and pure fear of Heaven in public spaces.
However, despite great spiritual success, the material situation of the Central Yeshivos at this time is difficult and severe; debts have risen greatly and threaten the very existence of the yeshivos. Therefore I turn to you—following our Sages' teaching (Sifra at the beginning of Parshas Tzav) that we only urge those who are already diligent—with a request to do all you can to help Rabbi Yosef HaLevi Weinberg succeed in his important mission mentioned above.
I am confident that for someone like yourself there is no need to explain the greatness of supporting Torah Temimah with fear of Heaven at all times—especially in our era of Ikvesa d'Meshicha (the footsteps before Mashiach), when "Chochmas Sofrim (even though it exists) has become putrid (like something lifeless), because those who fear sin are despised," as our Sages say (Shabbos 31a: "a basket full of reptiles... becomes wormy"). The reason for this disdain is that (the truth) as the verse says: "And Hashem commanded us to do all these statutes—including Torah study—in order to fear Hashem," is lacking.
I would be interested to hear about what has transpired since our conversation during your visit here and how you are settling in well.
