מאשר הנני קבלת מכתבו מצום העשירי - יהפך בקרוב לששון ולשמחה - בו כותב אודות המצב באה"ק ת"ו, לאחרי הרעש שהי', ואשר נראה שאלו שצריכים להיות מנהיגים אין ידועות להם הוראות מנהיגי הדור שקדמום, ומצוה להודיעם וכו'.
ולדידי צ"ע באם הנקודה בחוסר הידיעה או במה שמחפשים וגם בוחרים דוקא דרכים חדשים ומשונים וד"ל, והרי גם בהתבוננות לשעה קלה, מובן וגם פשוט, שהנהגת הרש"ר ע"ה הירש בשעתו, אינה מתאימה כלל וכלל באה"ק ת"ו (וגם לא בארצוה"ב), ולא עוד אלא שעלולה להביא היזק רב [מבלבלים את הנוער בקושיות וספיקות שאינם בד' אמות שלהם כלל וכלל, ואחרי כן משתדלים לתרץ את הקושיא, בה בשעה שאין איש מתענין בפלפול האמור, כי אם מחפשים האמת לאמיתו בלי כחל ובלי שרק, ובאופן כמאמר חז"ל כל דפשיט טפי מעלי טפי], וכנראה גם במוחש לכל איש ישר מביט, ואינו משוחד מהחינוך שנתחנך בו אביו או גם הוא, וק"ל ובפרט שגם בזה ספק, האם לא הי' טוב יותר באם לא חנכוהו בסדר דקושיות משיטות מסולפות ותירוצים ארוכים ומסוכנים, כי אם - הלוך רק בדרך הישר, בלימוד תורת ישראל תורת ישרים, כאבותינו מאמינים בני מאמינים, מבלי עירוב של זמורת זרים וחכמות חיצוניות.
לשאלתו האם מעונין אני לדעת ענינים מהנהגת כ"ק אדמו"ר אביו של כ"ק מו"ח אדמו"ר - זצוקללה"ה נבג"מ זי"ע, - כבר הודיעו חז"ל מילתא אלבישייהו יקירא, ובפרט שע"ד הרגיל אי אפשר לסיפור מבלי איזה קו או פרט חדש, באם נמסר הוא ע"י עד ראי' המדייק בשמעתתא.
ויהי רצון אשר כיון שכבר נתקיימו כו"כ סימנים מהברייתא דסוף סוטה, הנה יקוים בעגלא דידן העיקר, ביאת המשיח צדקנו גאולה האמיתית והשלימה, גאולה מכל הגליות.

I acknowledge receipt of your letter from the Fast of the Tenth — may it soon be transformed to joy and gladness — in which you write about the situation in Eretz HaKodesh after the recent upheaval. It appears that those who should be leaders are unaware of the guidance given by previous leaders of the generation, and it is a mitzvah to inform them, etc.
In my view, it is questionable whether the issue is a lack of knowledge or rather that they specifically seek out and choose new and strange paths. Even a brief reflection makes it clear that the approach of Rashar z"l Hirsch in his time is not at all suitable for Eretz HaKodesh (nor for America), and moreover, it can cause great harm. They confuse the youth with questions and doubts that are not relevant to their circumstances at all; afterwards they try to answer these questions, while no one is interested in such pilpulim — people are simply searching for genuine truth without embellishment or deception, as our Sages said: "the more straightforward, the better." This is evident to any honest observer who is not biased by his own or his father's upbringing. In fact, there is doubt whether it would not have been better had he not been educated with convoluted questions from distorted approaches and lengthy, dangerous answers but rather walked only on the straight path — studying Toras Yisrael, Toras Yesharim — as our ancestors did: believers, children of believers, without mixing in foreign branches or external wisdoms.
Regarding your question whether I am interested in knowing details about the conduct of my revered predecessor — the father of my father-in-law — our Sages have already said: "A precious matter should be clothed," especially since usually a story cannot be told without some new detail or aspect if it is transmitted by an eyewitness who is precise in what he heard.
May it be G‑d's will that since many signs from the end of Sotah have already been fulfilled, so too will the main thing soon be fulfilled in our days: the coming of Moshiach Tzidkeinu — true and complete redemption from all exiles.
