מיט צופרידענהייט האב איך באקומען די מיטטיילונג וועגן דעם בעפארשטייענדען חנוכה צוזאמענקונפט, איינגעארדענט אין פארבינדונג מיט דער גרינדונג און עפענונג פון דער נייער אפטיילונג פון דער ישיבת אחי תמימים אין נוארק נ. דז.
דער צוזאמענקונפט קומט פאר אין די טעג פון חנוכה, וואס מיר פייערן און דערמאנען אז ווען מלכות יון האט געצילט צו מאכן פארגעסן אידן תורה און מצות - האט די מסירות נפש פון אידן אין יענער צייט, זייער לערנען און אפהיטן תורה און מצות, געבראכט זיי דעם נצחון אז מסרת גבורים ביד חלשים ורבים ביד מעטים (דער אויבערשטער האט איבערגעגעבן די שטארקע אין די הענד פון די שוואכע, און די מערערע - צו די ווייניגע).
דאס איז אויך אן אפפלערנונג און אנווייזונג אויך אין אונזער צייט, אין דער מדינה און אין דער פראגע פון קינדער ערציאונג - וואו ס'איז ניטא קיינע גזירות, חס ושלום, געגען לערנען תורה און מקיים זיין מצות,
איז אבער דערווייל, ליידער, זער צושטאנד, אז די תלמידי הישיבות וואו מען לערנט דעם אויבערשטנ'ס תורה און מען ערציט צו מקיים זיין זיינע מצות - זיינען זיי ניט דער רוב פון אלע אידישע קינדער, און ניט פון די איינפלוסרייכסטע משפחות אין דעם מאטעריעלן לעבן.
דערמאנט אונז חנוכה און פאדערט אויף, אז ווי בימים ההם בזמן הזה, איז דורך מסירות נפש פאר אמת'ע אידישקייט תורה ומצות - וועלן, סוף סוף, די ווייניגע אין צאל צוציען צו זיך די מערערע, ביז די מעטים וועלן האבן דעם פולען נצחון און אויפשטעלן א דור ערצויגען אין גייסט פון חינוך על טהרת הקדש - און דורך דעם בריינגען פורקן (אויסלייזונג) פון דעם גאנצן אידישן פאלק.
ישיבת אחי תמימים אין אירע אלע אפטיילונגען איז געווידמעט צו דעם אויבענדערמאנטען צוועק און חינוך - און דערפאר בין איך שטארק אין דער האפנונג, אז די אויפפאדערונג פון חנוכה וועט ארויסרופן בא אלע איינטיילנעמער א פארשטארקטע טעטיקייט פאר דער אויפהאלטונג און פארברייטערונג פון דער ישיבה.
און דאס וועט זיי ברענגען דעם אויבערשטענ'ס ברכות בגשמיות וברוחניות.
בכבוד און מיט א וואונש פון הצלחה און - א פרייליכען חנוכה.

With satisfaction I received the news about the upcoming Chanukah gathering, organized in connection with the founding and opening of the new division of Yeshivas Achei Temimim in Newark, NJ.
This gathering takes place during the days of Chanukah, which we celebrate and recall that when the Greek kingdom sought to make Jews forget Torah and mitzvos—the mesirus nefesh (self-sacrifice) of Jews at that time, their learning and observance of Torah and mitzvos, brought them victory: "Masarta gibborim b'yad chalashim v'rabim b'yad me'atim" (You delivered the mighty into the hands of the weak and the many into the hands of the few).
This is also a lesson and directive for our time—in this country and regarding children's education—where there are no decrees, G‑d forbid, against learning Torah or observing mitzvos. Yet unfortunately, it is still so that students in yeshivos where G‑d's Torah is learned and children are educated to fulfill His mitzvos are not yet the majority among Jewish children nor from the most influential families materially.
Chanukah reminds us and demands that just as "in those days at this time," through mesirus nefesh for true Judaism—Torah and mitzvos—the few will ultimately draw to themselves the many until those few will have complete victory and establish a generation raised in the spirit of chinuch al taharas hakodesh (education in purity), thereby bringing redemption for all Jewish people.
Yeshivas Achei Temimim in all its divisions is dedicated to this above-mentioned purpose and education. Therefore I am strong in my hope that Chanukah's call will arouse all participants to increased activity for supporting and expanding the yeshiva. This will bring them Hashem's blessings both materially and spiritually.

Summary
The Rebbe teaches that Chanukah inspires us to strengthen our dedication to authentic Jewish education. Even when observant youth are few, their commitment can influence many more—leading to communal growth and blessing both physically and spiritually.
