Shalom u'Vrachah!
Hereby I acknowledge receipt of your letter from the 21st of Iyar regarding the acceptance of your school's graduates to Kfar Chabad. It is understood that this matter pertains to the administration of the schools in Kfar Chabad, as the details are not known here, and you can contact them directly "based on my suggestion from here." They can be trusted to do everything possible to accept boys into an educational framework based on holiness.
Since every matter is by Divine Providence, I feel both obligated and privileged to use this opportunity—since you wrote to me—to express my hope, based on our Sages' saying "we only urge those who are already diligent," that you certainly strive to instill in your school's students under your leadership a pure awe of Heaven to the greatest degree. Obviously and simply, I mean that their yirat shamayim should be expressed in daily conduct and practical action.
Considering that in our times various undesirable and unprecedented winds blow outside, and street influence often undermines Torah and tradition's foundations—in addition to the usual challenges youth face—it follows that if we want a graduate student to maintain a certain level regarding Torah and its mitzvot, it is primarily the school's role to provide him, while he is still within its walls, with an even greater measure of holiness and goodness. This way, after exposure to outside influences, he will at least retain a minimal measure of sanctity and goodness in his life spirit.
This is also one of the differences between our era and that of our grandparents and their ancestors: then living according to Torah and tradition was simple; the main role of cheder or yeshivah was to add knowledge in Torah matters. Nowadays, however, in most cases it falls upon the school to educate students about our eternal religion and Torah—starting from the very basics of appropriate conduct.
Certainly for someone like you there is no need for further elaboration. I would be pleased to hear good news regarding all the above.
Summary
The Rebbe writes that educators must proactively instill strong yirat shamayim in their students so they can withstand modern challenges. Schools today must focus not only on knowledge but also on shaping daily conduct rooted in holiness.
