במענה על מכתבו מיום הששי, עם הפ"נ המוסג"ב עבור אמו שתחי' שקראתי היום ער"ח על הציון הק' של כ"ק מו"ח אדמו"ר זצוקללה"ה נבג"מ זי"ע ואחכה לבשו"ט.
ת"ח על הקורת רוח שגרם לי בכתבו אודות אופן חגיגת יום הבהיר ל"ג בעומר הילולא דרשב"י, ובודאי ינצלו גם זמן מתן תורתנו והימים שלפניהם ושלאחריהם בכיוון המתאים, בעוד מועד יכינו ג"כ תכנית לימי החופש בקיץ הבע"ל.
ובמ"ש אודות הסברא שילמדו לימודי חול בחצי יום הראשון, הנה מובן שבכלל אין רצוי הדבר, אבל מה ששואל אם יתנהג בזה בתקיפות, הרי אף שעיקר הוא שהתחלת היום ולימודיהם צ"ל דוקא בלימודי קדש, אבל במקום דאי אפשר כלל יש להסכים בדוחק שלאחרי לימוד אחד של לימודי קדש, הרי שאר הלימודי קדש יהיו בשעות מאוחרות, כיון שגם באופן זה מתקיים הצווי שראשית עריסותיכם תתנו לה', (אף שעדיין במקומו עומד הגרעון שדוקא בשעות הבקר שהתלמידות קולטות את הלימוד יותר לומדים אז לא את הלימודי קדש), וי"ל - שימצא אנשים מן הצד שישפיעו על פב"פ שתסכים להמשיך בסדר הלימודים כמו עד עתה.
ולהודעתו מעשיית התספורת של בנם יוסף יצחק שליט"א, הנה יה"ר שהוא וזוגתו שיחיו יגדלוהו לתורה ולחופה ולמעשים טובים.

In response to your letter from Friday, with the enclosed pan for your mother may she live, which I read today on Erev Rosh Chodesh at the holy resting place of my father-in-law, the Rebbe zatzal, and I await good news.
Thank you for the satisfaction you gave me by writing about how Lag BaOmer—the bright day and hilulah of Rashbi—was celebrated. Surely you will also utilize the time of Matan Torah and the days before and after it in a fitting manner, and in due time prepare a program as well for the upcoming summer vacation.
Regarding what you wrote about the idea to teach secular studies during the first half of the day: it is understood that this is generally not desirable. But regarding your question whether to act firmly about this: although it is essential that the start of the day and their studies must specifically be with Torah subjects, if it is absolutely impossible otherwise, one may reluctantly agree that after one Torah lesson, the rest of the Torah subjects will be taught later in the day. In this way, at least "Reishis Arisoseichem Titnu LaHashem" (the first of your dough you shall give to Hashem) is fulfilled—even though there remains a deficiency since it is specifically in the morning hours when students absorb learning best that they are not studying Torah subjects. It would be appropriate to find outsiders who can influence PBP to agree to continue with the current study schedule as before.
Regarding your report about their son Yosef Yitzchak shlita's haircutting ceremony: May it be G‑d's will that he and his wife raise him to Torah, marriage, and good deeds.
