Bracha v'Shalom!

I was pleased to receive your letter, a report about the Shabbos gatherings and the way they are conducted. Certainly, in connection with the upcoming Yom Tov of Shavuos, the time of the giving of our Torah, there was special discussion at these Shabbos gatherings in the weeks before Shavuos about preparing the children for this Yom Tov. As our Rabbis of blessed memory tell us, when Hashem Yisbarach Veyisaleh gave the Torah to all Jews, He first required that Jewish children be raised in the path of Torah; this assurance enabled the giving of the Torah to all Jews.

So too is it in every generation: when Jewish children are raised as the holy Torah instructs, it strengthens every Jew in all countries wherever they may be found, and this brings blessings from Hashem Yisbarach in whatever is needed.

This thought should inspire even greater strength in each of you—among all Jewish children, may G‑d grant them life—to go in the path of Torah and mitzvah with increased vigor and to draw close every Jewish child you can reach. They too should know they are children of Avraham, Yitzchak, and Yaakov and also accept the Torah from Hashem Yisbarach, Giver of the Torah—Who protects them and blesses them materially and spiritually.

With blessing for a joyous Yom Tov of Shavuos—the time of the giving of our Torah.
