...ובמה שכותב שרואה הוא ירידה במצבו הרוחני. הנה בלי שום ספק שדברי רז"ל אמיתים הם, וכיון שפסקו ובדבר משנה שמצוה גוררת מצוה, הרי ברור הדבר שעסקנות בחינוך הכשר המקרב את לבן של בנ"י לאבינו שבשמים מוכרח שתגרור אחרי' עוד מצות ולא ח"ו לגרוע במצב הרוחני של העוסק בזה, ומובן זה ביתר שאת ויתר עז ע"פ המבואר בתורה אור בתחלתו בהענין דצדקה תרומם גוי וכלשון רבינו הזקן אשר נעשים מוחו ולבו זכים אלף פעמים ככה, שהוא ממש אלף פעמים כדמוכח מלשון המדרש דאלף נכנסים למקרא מאה כו' ואחד יוצא להוראה ונתבאר בלקו"ת לג' פרשיות בתחלתו, אלא שמלשון זה גופא שמוחו ולבו נעשים זכים מובן שעכ"פ קביעות ללימוד התורה צריכה להיות, ואז מצליחים במשך שעה אחת מה שבלא"ה הי' צריך לאלף שעות, ובטחוני שחלק האלף מזמנו שהי' קובע לתורה קודם התעסקותו בחינוך הכשר יוכל לקבוע גם עתה ועוד יותר מזה, ואין לך דבר העומד בפני הרצון...
נהניתי במאד מ"ש שזוגתו עומדת עם תלמידי' מלפנים בקישור ובודאי יביא זה תועלת בשביל התלמידות בכמה מובנים, וע"פ מרז"ל יותר ממה שהבע"ב עושה עם העני העני עושה עם הבע"ב, הנה בודאי יביא זה ג"כ תועלת בשביל זוגתו תחי' וכל ביתה.

...Regarding what you write about seeing a decline in your spiritual state. There is no doubt that the words of our Sages are true, and since they ruled—and it is a clear teaching—that one mitzvah brings another mitzvah, it is certain that involvement in kosher education which draws the hearts of the children of Israel closer to our Father in Heaven must bring about more mitzvos and certainly not, G‑d forbid, cause a spiritual decline for the one involved. This is even more so according to what is explained at the beginning of Torah Or regarding the matter of 'Tzedakah Teromem Goy' (charity uplifts a nation), and as the Alter Rebbe says: one's mind and heart become a thousand times more refined—literally a thousand times as proven from the Midrash: a thousand enter to study scripture, a hundred... and one emerges for instruction; this is explained at length at the beginning of Likkutei Torah on three parshiyos. Yet from this very phrase—that one's mind and heart become refined—it is understood that there must still be fixed times for Torah study. Then, within one hour one can accomplish what would otherwise take a thousand hours. I am confident that the fraction of time you used to dedicate to Torah before your involvement in kosher education can still be set aside now—and even more so—and nothing stands in the way of willpower...
I was very pleased by what you wrote that your wife stands with her students from before in connection, and surely this will benefit the students in many ways. As our Sages say: more than the homeowner does for the poor person, the poor person does for the homeowner; surely this will also benefit your wife—may she live—and her entire household.
