בנועם קבלתי הידיעה על דבר חגיגת חנוכת הבית של הסמינריון לבנות שתתקיים בליל ב' דחנוכה הבע"ל. ויהי רצון שתהי' החגיגה ראוי' לשמה, בהצלחה מופלגה בכל הפרטים, בגשמיות וברוחניות גם יחד.
למותר להאריך בגודל ערך שמחה זו לרגלי הישג חשוב זה בחינוך על טהרת הקודש.
וכבר מלתי אמורה שהשנה הזאת היא ביחוד שנת סגולה לכל עניני החינוך הכשר, להיותה שנת הקהל, היא השנה שאחרי שנת השבע שנת השמיטה, שבזמן שבית המקדש הי' קיים נתוספה בה מצוה גדולה שהיא "עמוד חזק וכבוד גדול בדת" (ס' החינוך ), מצות ["]הקהל את העם, האנשים והנשים והטף, וגרך אשר בשעריך, למען ישמעו ולמען ילמדו ויראו את ה"א ושמרו לעשות את כל דברי התורה הזאת". ועל דרך מאמר חכמינו ז"ל, זאת תורת החטאת - כל העוסק בתורת חטאת כאילו הקריב חטאת, הנה זאת תורת מצות הקהל בזמן הזה הוא להוסיף בהשתדלות ובהתעסקות להרחיב החינוך על טהרת הקודש. ואם בכל שנה ושנה מצווים אנו לחינוך בקודש, על אחת כמה וכמה בשנה זו, שנת הקהל, שמדגישה ביחוד חובת הציבור וחובת היחיד לעשות ולפעול, במידה הכי גדולה, למען חינוך בני ובנות ישראל, חינוך ספוג יראת השם ואהבת השם, אהבת התורה ואהבת ישראל.
ובפרט שהחגיגה מתקיימת בימי החנוכה, הרי עוד נקודה בזה, שאין להסתפק בהישגים שבעבר, אלא צריך להוסיף במאמצים ובהשתדלות בכל עניני חינוך הכשר, כהוראת ימי חנוכה - שמצותם הדלקת הנרות באופן דמוסיף והולך מוסיף ואור, בהפצת נר מצוה ותורה אור.
ראויים כל עסקני החינוך והמשתתפים בשמחת חגיגת חנוכת הבית האמורה לברכה שזכו להישג חשוב זה בהתפתחות והתרחבות הסמינריון לבנות מיסודו של כ"ק מו"ח אדמו"ר, נשיא דורנו, זי"ע, מוסד
חינוך המתנהל ברוח רבינו הזקן בעל התניא והשו"ע, שהננו באים משמחת יום גאולתו, שמסר נפשו על הפצת התורה והמצוה בכלל, ועל החינוך בפרט.
ויהי רצון שהתעוררות ימי סגולה וימי אור אלה תעמוד לכל העושים והמעשים למען חינוך בני ובנות ישראל בדרך התורה והמצוות, וההצלחה שהאירה להם פנים עד היום תאיר דרכם גם להבא ללכת מחיל אל חיל, ונזכה כולנו יחד בתוככי כל אחינו בני ישראל למזמור שיר
חנוכת הבית הגדול והקדוש, ביהמ"ק שיבנה במהרה בימינו על ידי משיח צדקנו.

It was with pleasure that I received the news about the Chanukas HaBayis celebration for the girls' seminary that will take place on the second night of Chanukah, G‑d willing. May it be G‑d's will that the celebration be truly worthy of its name and exceptionally successful in every detail, both materially and spiritually.
It is unnecessary to elaborate on the great value of this joyous occasion marking such an important achievement in education according to the purity of holiness. As I have already stated, this year is especially auspicious for all matters of proper education since it is a Hakhel year—the year following Shemittah—when, during the time of the Beis HaMikdash, there was an additional great mitzvah described as a "strong pillar and great honor in religion" (Sefer HaChinuch), namely: "Hakhel es ha'am ha'anashim ve'hanashim ve'hataf ve'gercha asher bish'arecha lemaan yishme'u ulemaan yilmedu veyar'u es Hashem... veshamru la'asos es kol divrei haTorah hazos" ("Gather together the people—the men, women and children and your stranger who is within your gates—so that they may hear and so that they may learn and fear Hashem... and observe to do all the words of this Torah").
And just as our Sages said regarding korbanos: "Zos Toras HaChatas—whoever studies about the chatas offering is considered as if he brought a chatas," so too regarding Hakhel: in our times its fulfillment is through increased effort and involvement to expand education according to holiness. If every year we are commanded regarding holy education, how much more so in this Hakhel year which especially emphasizes both communal and individual responsibility to act with utmost dedication for educating Jewish boys and girls—education imbued with awe of Hashem and love of Hashem, love of Torah and love of Israel.
Especially since this celebration takes place during Chanukah days—there is an added point: one should not suffice with past achievements but must increase efforts in all matters of proper education. This follows Chanukah's lesson—its mitzvah is lighting candles in a manner of increasing light each day (mosif v'holech), spreading ner mitzvah v'Torah or (the candle is a mitzvah and Torah is light).
All those involved in education and participants in this joyous Chanukas HaBayis celebration deserve blessings for meriting such an important achievement—the development and expansion of this girls' seminary founded by my revered father-in-law, our Rebbe, leader of our generation (ztz"l), an educational institution conducted according to the spirit of Rabbeinu HaZaken (the Alter Rebbe), author of Tanya and Shulchan Aruch. We are coming from celebrating his day of redemption—a leader who gave his life for spreading Torah and mitzvos generally and education specifically.
May it be G‑d's will that the inspiration from these auspicious days—days filled with light—stand by all those involved in educating Jewish boys and girls according to Torah and mitzvos; may their success until now continue to shine upon them going forward so they proceed from strength to strength. May we all together among all our brethren merit "a psalm for the inauguration (Chanukas) of the great and holy House," meaning the Beis HaMikdash which will soon be rebuilt by Moshiach Tzidkeinu.
