שלום וברכה!
נתקבלה הפתקא שלו עם כ' מזוזות ט"ו לנפנה וחמש למל"ח ונמסרו למטרתם בת"ח. ומהתימה עליו שהסתפק במכתבו בשתי שורות מבלי להודיע מהנעשה בהפצת המעיינות חוצה וגם לא מפעולות המעיינות בפנים.
למותר להאריך בגודל מעלת ענין המעמד והחזקת מוסד אשר כ"ק מו"ח אדמו"ר הכ"מ החשיבו למעלה מעלה עד שבעצמו התעסק בהמצאת האמצעים הדרושים לעבודת מוסד זה. כוונתי למרכז לעניני חנוך.
אבל ידוע דרישת תורת חסידות חב"ד, אשר המסירה ונתינה צריכה להיות בכל כוחות הנפש חב"ד חג"ת נהי"ם ומחדו"מ. ואף כפי שנתבאר בתניא צדקה נקראת בשם מצוה סתם, כי בזה נכלל כל חיות נפשו, ובאגרת הקדש סימן ט' אשר בעקבתא דמשיחא אין דרך לדבקה בו באמת ולהפכא חשוכא לנהורא כו' כי אם בבחינת עשי' ג"כ שהיא מעשה הצדקה,
אבל אחרי כל זה אין אדם יוצא ידי חובתו בזה בלבד, כמבואר בתניא גופא, בחלק ראשון, אשר כל כוחות הנפש ולבושי' צריכים להיות ממולאים בתורה ומצוות.
ובפרט בתלמידי התמימים אשר הם מזקני אנ"ש שהם צריכים לשמש דוגמא לאחרים, ובמילא צריכים להיות במידה האפשריית כרכא דכולא בי' אז אויב השכלה - איז דא השכלה, אויב עבודה - נא דיר עבודה, און אויב מעשים בפועל, האב איך מעשים בפועל.
קשה לי להאריך יותר מאי ידעי תכונת נפשו, והרי אין כוונתי אלא לעזור ולא צו פארטשעפן. אבל תקותי אשר גם שורות האלה יספיקו.
בטח אין נזקק להערה והארה אדות ענין ההתקשרות לנשיא הוא כ"ק מו"ח אדמו"ר הכ"מ, אשר ההתקשרות הוא על ידי לימוד תורתו והליכה בדרכיו אשר הורה.
ובטח יש לו קביעת עתים ללימוד תורת כ"ק מו"ח אדמו"ר הכ"מ אשר במאמריו שיחותיו ומכתביו. ומה טוב אם הלימוד הוא בחבורה אשר איש את רעהו יחזק ויעורר.
ומובן אשר אין זה פוטר משאר השיעורים אשר כל אחד ואחד מחוייב בהם.
ובכללם שיעורים השוין לכל נפש בחק יומי והם: חומש עם פרש"י, תהלים כמו שנחלק לימי החודש, תניא כפי שנחלק לימי השנה על ידי כ"ק מו"ח אדמו"ר הכ"מ.
בברכת כתיבה וחתימה טובה לו ולכל ב"ב יחיו, ושישתמש בחוש העסקנות אשר בו לפנות הדרך לרגלי מבשר, ע"י אור תורת החב"ד

Your note was received with twenty mezuzos—fifteen for Maamad and five for Melach—and they were delivered to their intended purpose, thank you very much.
It is surprising that you limited your letter to two lines without informing me about your activities in spreading the wellsprings outward or about your work with the inner wellsprings.
There is no need to elaborate on the great importance of supporting and maintaining an institution that my revered father-in-law, the Rebbe hk"m, valued so highly that he personally worked to provide its necessary resources. I refer to the Merkaz L'Inyanei Chinuch.
It is known that Chabad Chassidus demands that giving and dedication be with all powers of one's soul—Chabad, Chagat, Nehim, and Machadom. As explained in Tanya, tzedakah is called simply "mitzvah," because it includes all of one's soul's vitality. In Iggeres HaKodesh chapter 9 it is stated that in Ikvesa D'Meshicha there is no way to truly cleave to Him and transform darkness into light except through action—specifically the act of tzedakah. Yet even so, a person does not fulfill his obligation with this alone, as explained in Tanya itself (Part One), that all powers of the soul and its garments must be filled with Torah and mitzvos.
This applies especially to talmidei hatmimim who are among the elders of Anash; they must serve as examples for others. Therefore, they must be as complete as possible: if there is intellect—there should be intellect; if there is avodah—let there be avodah; and if there are practical deeds—I have practical deeds.
It is difficult for me to elaborate further since I do not know your soul's nature. My intention is only to help, not to criticize. I hope these few lines will suffice.
Certainly you do not need a reminder about the importance of connection to the Nasi—the Previous Rebbe hk"m—which comes through studying his Torah and following his guidance. Surely you have set times for learning his teachings—his discourses, talks, and letters. How good it would be if this study were done in a group where each encourages and inspires his fellow.
Of course this does not exempt one from other required studies—including those obligatory for everyone daily: Chumash with Rashi, Tehillim as divided by days of the month, Tanya as divided by days of the year by my revered father-in-law hk"m.
With blessings for a good inscription and sealing for you and your entire family; may you use your talent for communal work to clear the path for the footsteps of Moshiach through the light of Chabad Torah.
Summary
