רז"ל מספרים (שמ"ר פכ"ח) כשביקש הקב"ה ליתן תורה לישראל אמר למשה: אמור לנשים תחלה - הן מזדרזות במצות - שיהיו מנהיגות בניהן לתורה.
ולכן - ע"י חנוך הראוי שהי' אז - מצינו בדור ההוא של מ"ת אשר כשקבצו זהב לעשית העגל לא רצו הנשים להשתתף בזה בשום אופן - אבל, כשזמן קצר אח"ז, נתנו בנ"י נדבתם לבנין המשכן היו הנשים הראשונות להביא לבנין המשכן,
הורים! אבות ואמהות!
שלמה המלך - החכם מכל האדם אמר (משלי יד, א) חכמות נשים בנתה ביתה ואולת בידי' תהרסנו.
כל בת וילדה - היא העתידה לבנות, כשתגדל, בית בישראל. ובה תלוי קיום הבית או, ח"ו, הריסתו.
אבל להכין אותה למילוי תפקיד היותר חשוב זה - עליכם, הורים, מוטל הדבר. ועל שכמכם כל האחריות בעד עתידה של בתכם ועתידו של ביתה אשר עלי' לבנות אותו.
ולעזור לכם לתת לבתכם חנוך הראוי הדרוש לה למצוא את דרכה דרך הישר בחיים מאושרים ברוח וגשם
כדי להמציא לבתכם, בת בתכם וכו' את כל הידיעות הדרושות לה למילוי תפקידה
כדי להעמידה על יסודות חזקים של ה"אני מאמין" של כל עם ישראל
כדי להטביע עלי' חותם בת ישראל הקשורה לדתה תורתה ומסורת אבות
לתכלית זו נתייסדו ע"י ה"מל"ח" בתי הספר "בית רבקה - בית שרה".

מגוכתי"ק. מתחיל משנת תש"ב, והולך ומוסיף בשנה שלאח"ז, יסד המל"ח כו"כ בתי ספר לבנות "בית רבקה - בית שרה" (ראה לעיל אגרת לו ובהנסמן בהערות שם). הנוסח שלפנינו נכתב בלה"ק ע"מ לתרגמו לאנגלית, להדפיסו כמנשר ולהפיצו בישראל. אגרות שנכתבו באנגלית לא נדפסים בכרך שלפנינו, אך כאן שנמצא המקור שנכתב בלה"ק, נדפס בלשונו המקורי. וכעין זה גם לקמן אגרות קא. קכג. קכד. קסח.

Shalom u'Vrachah!
Our Sages (Shemot Rabbah, ch. 28) relate that when the Holy One, blessed be He, wished to give the Torah to Israel, He told Moshe: 'Speak first to the women—they are quick in mitzvot—so they will guide their children toward Torah.' Therefore, through proper education at that time, we find in the generation of Matan Torah that when gold was gathered for making the Golden Calf, the women refused to participate in any way. However, a short time later, when Bnei Yisrael gave donations for building the Mishkan, the women were the first to bring contributions for its construction.
Parents! Fathers and mothers! Shlomo HaMelech—the wisest of all men—said (Mishlei 14:1): 'Chachmot nashim banta beitah ve'ivvelet beyadeha teharseinu' ('The wisdom of women builds her house, but folly with her own hands tears it down'). Every girl and child is destined to build a home in Israel when she grows up. The existence or, G‑d forbid, destruction of that home depends on her. But preparing her for this most important role is your responsibility as parents. The entire future of your daughter and her home rests upon you.
To help you provide your daughter with the proper education she needs—to find her path on a straight road toward a happy life both spiritually and materially; to equip your daughter, granddaughter, etc., with all necessary knowledge for fulfilling her role; to establish her on strong foundations of 'Ani Maamin' (I believe) shared by all Israel; to imprint upon her the seal of a Bas Yisrael connected to her faith, Torah, and ancestral tradition—for this purpose were established by Melach (the Central Committee for Chabad Education) the schools 'Beis Rivkah - Beis Sarah.'
Parents! Ensure that your daughter attends Beis Rivkah or Beis Sarah school in your neighborhood. Men and women! Support Melach in its work—founding and expanding its school network. Then we are certain that with G‑d's help these students will be among those who build up the younger generation—a healthy generation in body and spirit—a generation in whom all Israel will take pride.

Beginning from 5702 (1942), and increasing each subsequent year, Melach established numerous girls' schools—Beis Rivkah - Beis Sarah (see above letter 36 and notes there). The text before us was written in Lashon HaKodesh (Hebrew) so it could be translated into English, printed as a flyer, and distributed in Israel. Letters originally written in English are not printed in this volume; however, since here we have an original Hebrew version it is printed as is. Similarly for letters 101, 123, 124, 168 below. Summary
