זה לא כבר נתקבל מכתבו מיום ט' באייר, ובעתו נתקבל על ידי דר. שלמה שי' איידלברג מניו-יורק החוברת תדפיס חיבורו "המשפטים מטעם האינקוויזיצי' בטולידו כו'". ותודה עבורה, ובטח ישלח לספרי' אשר על ידי גם שאר פרסומיו, כיון שהספרי' היא גם לתועלת הרבים, ות"ח למפרע.
כיון שכ' מגזע חב"ד ונין ונכד לזקני אנ"ש, הרי אמרו רז"ל זרוק חוטרא לאוירא אעיקרי' קאי, ותקותי שכן הוא בפועל אצל כ', ולא רק בימי סגולה דשבת ומועד וכדו', אלא גם בחיים היום-יומיים, וגם מנצל השפעתו על זולתו בכיוון זה. כי הרי ענין הזריקה נתקיים בתקופתנו זו בכל אחד ואחד מאתנו, אוד מוצל מאש, שלכן האחריות גדולה פי כמה, האחריות כל אלה שההשגחה העליונה השאירה לפליטה שהוא להחיות עם רב.
ובפרט אשר כ' מקצועו הוראה והשפעה על הנוער, וכל אלה שההשגחה העליונה העמידתם בשטח החינוך, באיזה מקצוע שיהי', מוכרח שישפיע על תלמידיו למילוי תפקידם הפנימי והעקרי, הוא חיים בדרך תורתנו תורת חיים ומצוותי'.
וידוע אשר הנוער אינו סובל פשרות, ודוקא כשנותנים להם דבר אלקים במילואו וטהרתו רוכשים לבם, שלא כדעת הטועים החושבים שע"י קולות ופשרות וכו' ירכשו אימון לבם, והאריכות לדכוותי' אך למותר.
וע"י חינוך מסורתי בלתי פשרות מכשירים את המחונך לחיים מאושרים באמת, זאת אומרת אושר הגופני והרוחני גם יחד.

Not long ago I received your letter from the 9th of Iyar, and in due time I also received from Dr. Shlomo Edelberg of New York the booklet reprinting your essay "The Trials by the Inquisition in Toledo etc." Thank you for it, and surely you will also send your other publications to my library, since the library is also for the benefit of the public; thank you in advance.
Since you are from Chabad lineage and a descendant of the elders of Anash, our Sages said: "Throw a stick into the air—it lands on its root," and I hope this is indeed so with you—not only on special days like Shabbat and festivals but also in daily life—and that you use your influence on others in this direction.
This idea of 'throwing' has been fulfilled in our generation with each one of us—brands plucked from the fire—which makes our responsibility many times greater: all those whom Divine Providence has left as survivors are meant to give life to a great people.
Especially since your profession is teaching and influencing youth—and all those whom Divine Providence has placed in the field of education, whatever their specialty may be—must influence their students to fulfill their inner and primary purpose: living according to our Torah, a Torah of life and its mitzvot.
It is well known that youth do not tolerate compromises; specifically when they are given the word of G‑d in its fullness and purity do they acquire trust—not as some mistakenly think that through leniencies or compromises they will win their hearts. Further elaboration to you is unnecessary.
Through uncompromising traditional education one prepares the student for truly happy lives—that is, both physical and spiritual happiness together.
