The Joy and Elevation in Pure Torah Education

May 29, 1958
The letter emphasizes the privilege and responsibility of educating students in pure Torah values. It highlights how such work elevates both student and teacher, and should be performed with joy, as all of a person's actions must be imbued with knowledge of the Divine.

It is understood and also obvious that since you have merited that Divine Providence has placed you in a beautiful portion—work in proper education, in purity and holiness, which brings the hearts of students closer to our Father in Heaven—certainly this clarifies, purifies, and elevates the student and the one being educated from level to level, and increases the success of the educator and teacher himself. And like all matters of a person, about whom it is said, 'In all your ways know Him,' so too this must be done with joy and a good heart, for the command of the Almighty is the fulfillment of Torah and mitzvah, and also 'In all your ways know Him.' And this is sufficient explanation.

Summary

Educating with purity and holiness elevates both student and teacher, and should be done with joy, recognizing that all actions, especially in education, are opportunities to connect with the Divine.
