It seems that the dispute regarding... shiy is still unresolved, which compels me to express my deepest regret about this matter, and even greater regret—perhaps even more so—that apparently someone is influencing you to view this issue as one where 'let the law pierce the mountain,' as if great success depends on whether the solution goes one way, and failure if it goes another. It seems this is taking much of your time, energy, and attention from what needs to be accomplished.

You surely recognize and have seen clearly how you have succeeded beyond natural means... And although even then not everything was peaceful or tranquil—after all, we are in this world where, as my father-in-law the Rebbe said, since the sin of the Tree of Knowledge there is no good without...—suddenly you are giving great importance to something that deserves little or perhaps even less.

In any case, I do not interfere with evaluating these matters since I am not present there. But it is clear and simple that when there is a committee made up of several people—a committee appointed before a certain event—it is impossible to nullify its decision. Even if one side does not agree with the committee's decision, its authority must not be diminished. After all, there is no other way to manage affairs involving several people without some body mediating between them and deciding when there are disagreements—a decision (according to Torah) of 'after the majority one must incline.'

If this applies to everyone, how much more so regarding you: every hour or half-hour spent on dispute could be used efficiently—and multiplied many times over—increasing activities in matters of the schools which Divine Providence has privileged you to direct. Multiply each half-hour or hour by the number and success of students in these schools...

I strongly hope there is no need for lengthy explanation on all this. It will gladden me to hear good news that you have completely set aside this matter and with joy and a good heart continue your holy work—education in purity—for Jewish boys and girls. Of each it is said: 'You are children to Hashem your G‑d,' who are especially beloved—as I heard from my father-in-law the Rebbe quoting the Baal Shem Tov: Hashem's love for every Jewish boy or girl far surpasses that of elderly parents for their only child born in their old age.

May it be G‑d's will that from now on there will be no need for letters like these.

Summary

The Rebbe teaches that disputes should not distract from one's sacred mission; respecting communal decisions and focusing on positive educational work brings true blessing. Every moment spent on conflict can instead uplift countless students through holy efforts in education.
