מיט פערגיניגען האב איך באקומען אייער בריף מיט דער ידיעה, אז ראש חודש שבט, הבא עלינו ועל כל ישראל לטובה, וועט פארקומען די יערליכע חגיגה פון דער ישיבת אחי תמימים ליובאוויטש אין ספרינגפיעלד מאס. און איך האף אז די אידען פון ספרינגפיעלד חובבי תורה שאצען אפ ווי געהעריג די עבודה קדושה וואס ווערט געטאן דורך דער ישיבה, און וועלען אויף א פאסענדען אופן באטייליגען זיך אין דער חגיגה, סיי בגופם און סיי בממונם, און עס וועט אויך זיין עינם טובה בשל אחרים, צו איינווירקען אויך אויף פריינד און באקאנטע, אז אויך זיי זאלען זיך באטייליגען אין דער אויסהאלטונג און אויסברייטערונג פון דעם מוסד הק'.
ווארום אויב אין אלע צייטען איז חינוך געווען דער הויפט זייל (עמוד) פון דעם קיום עם ישראל, און ווי רבותינו ז"ל רופען דאס אן מלאכת שמים, איז אין א נאך פיל גרעסערער מאס איז דאס אזוי אין אונזער דור, און אין דער צייט, וואס די יוגענט נויטיגט זיך, ניט נאר אין דעם לערנען און וויסען פון תורה, נאר אויך אין לערנען די יסודות פון יהדות, און דאס אויפפירען זיך אין גייסט פון תורה אין דעם טאג טעגליכען לעבען, איז די נויטיגקייט פון אזא מוסד וועלכער זאל געבען חינוך על טהרת הקדש נאך פיל מער וויכטיקער און שטעלט מיט זיך פאר ענין שהנשמה תלוי' בו, - די נשמה פון א עדה אידען, אין וועלכער דער מוסד טוט זיין ארבעט, און מיר האבען א הבטחה פון רז"ל, אז אויך זייענדיק אין גלות, איז לב ישראל ער להקדוש ברוך הוא לתורתו. האף איך אז דאס וועט זיך אויסדריקען אין א ממשית'דיקער שטיצע, ווי געזאגט אז דער מוסד זאל קענען אנפירען מיט זיין עבודה קדושה אין א גרעסערער מאס, סיי בכמות און סיי באיכות - לויט דער פאדערונג פון דער צייט. און דער זכות זאל ביישטיין די אלע וועלכע נעמען איינטייל אין דעם, אין דעם וואס זיי נויטיגען זיך בגשמיות וברוחניות.

Shalom u'Vrachah!
With pleasure I received your letter with the news that on Rosh Chodesh Shevat, which is coming upon us and all Israel for good, the annual celebration of Yeshivas Achei Temimim Lubavitch in Springfield, MA will take place. I hope that the Jews of Springfield who love Torah will properly appreciate the holy work being done by the yeshivah and will participate fittingly in the celebration, both personally and financially. It will also be a merit for them to influence friends and acquaintances so that they too will participate in supporting and expanding this holy institution.
For if at all times education has been the main pillar (support) for the existence of the Jewish people—as our Rabbis of blessed memory call it "Heavenly work"—then how much more so is this true in our generation and at this time, when youth need not only to learn and know Torah but also to learn the foundations of Judaism and to conduct themselves in the spirit of Torah in their daily lives. The necessity for such an institution that provides education al taharas hakodesh (in purity and holiness) is even greater now, as it is truly a matter upon which the soul depends—the soul of a Jewish community where this institution operates.
And we have a guarantee from our Sages that even while in exile, "the heart of Israel is awake to Hakadosh Baruch Hu (the Holy One Blessed Be He) and to His Torah." I hope this will be expressed in tangible support so that the institution can continue its holy work on an even greater scale—both quantitatively and qualitatively—as required by our times. And may merit stand for all those who take part in this, both for their material and spiritual needs.
