הנני לאשר קבלת מכתבו מכ"ז בכסלו והקודמו עם הנספחים. וכמובן שתמים דיעה אני אתו בדבר גודל ההכרח לעסוק בחינוך על טהרת הקדש, שאם תמיד הי' כך, על אחת כמה וכמה בימינו שנתוספו בהם שני שוניים עקריים: מצד אחד יש למלא החלל העמוק שנשאר לאחרי הגזירות וההשמדות של שליש מעמנו בני ישראל, ומאידך יש לנצל ההתעוררות הרוחנית בכלל, ואצל הנוער בפרט, התעוררות לחפש ולבקש את האמת, אף שחלק מהם עדין לא יודעים מה מבקשים, וחלק מהם מכירים כבר בהצורך לשוב אל המקורות.
וגדול העושה ומעשה בחינוך בפרט, שכל שנוי לטוב אצל הנוער משפיע על כל החיים. ובקשר עם זה מוסג"פ העתק שיחה על החובה להאזין לקול ילד בוכה.
ולתוכן מכתבו, מובן שכשלוחינו יבקרו בארצות שכותב ישתדלו להפגש עם אותם שכותב עליהם, וכדרכם להפגש עם עסקני המקום, אף שעד עתה ארצות אלו לא נכללו בתוך ארצות הביקור מפני ריחוק המקום וסיבות אחרות.
כיון שבאים אנו מימי החנוכה, אביעה ברכתי ותקותי שכל אחד ואחד, בתוך כלל ישראל, יעשה ויוסיף בנר מצוה ותורה אור, בלי פשרות ובשלילת אפילו מגע זר, שזה גם כן כהוראת ימי חנוכה, כשבאו להדליק המנורה הי' שמן זית, אלא שהי' שמן שנגעה בו יד זר שלכן הי' טמא ליהודים, והנמשל מובן, ובעוה"ר גם דבר בעתו.

I hereby acknowledge receipt of your letter from the 27th of Kislev and the previous one with their enclosures. Of course, I fully agree with you regarding the great necessity to engage in education based on holiness. If this was always essential, how much more so in our times when two major changes have occurred: On one hand, there is a deep void left after the decrees and destruction that affected a third of our people, the children of Israel; on the other hand, there is a general spiritual awakening—especially among youth—an awakening to search for and seek truth. Even though some still do not know what they are seeking, some already recognize the need to return to their roots. Great is one who acts and works in education specifically, for every positive change among youth influences their entire life.
In connection with this, I am enclosing a copy of a talk about the obligation to listen to the voice of a crying child.
Regarding your letter's content: It is understood that when our emissaries visit countries you mention, they will try to meet those you wrote about—as is their custom to meet with local activists—even though until now these countries were not included in their visits due to distance and other reasons.
Since we are coming from the days of Chanukah, I express my blessing and hope that each individual within all Israel will act and increase in "ner mitzvah v'Torah or" (the candle is a mitzvah and Torah is light), without compromise and rejecting even foreign contact. This too is an instruction from Chanukah: when they came to light the Menorah there was olive oil—but it had been touched by foreign hands so it was impure for Jews; the lesson is clear—and unfortunately also timely.
