הרב חדקוב שי' מסר לי ערב ראש-חודש בקשת ברכה בנוגע ל...ויהי רצון שיבשר טוב בתוכן הבקשה. וזכות פעולותיו, שבודאי נוהג על פי הציווי להעלות בקדש - והרי לזה צ"ל מנוחת הנפש והגוף - יעמוד לו למנוחת הנפש גם בענין..שהכל יסתדר כדבעי.
ומתוך שמחה וטוב לבב ינצל כשרונותיו בהפצת היהדות במדה המלאה ויבשר טוב גם בזה.
בהזדמנות זו רצוני להביע קורת רוחי רבה בקשר עם השתתפותו בחגיגת ישיבת אחי תמימים ליובאוויטש בבוסטון, אשר כפי שהודיעוני הופעתו ונאומו עשו רושם חזק, שמראה שהיו דברים היוצאים מן הלב. ואע"פ ששכר מצוה מצוה וכבר בא על שכרו, אבל רצוני להודיע לו שנהניתי מהנ"ל במיוחד, ותקותי חזקה שגם בזה ינהוג כנ"ל באופן דמעלין בקדש, לסייע בהתפתחות מוסדות חינוך חב"ד בתוככי כללות מוסדות חינוך על טהרת הקדש.
בברכה לבשורות טובות בכל האמור ובפ"ש בנו הרב עמוס שי' ובכבוד.
נ.ב. זוכרני שאמר לי פעם שמוצאו מולוזשין. אבל מובן שאין זה סתירה כלל בהנוגע להשתתפות בעניני ליובאוויטש, ומעשה רב שרואני שמשתתף. ואת"ל - אדרבה על פי הנ"ל צריכה ההשתתפות להיות עוד בכפלים וק"ל. ובפרט שעכשו הוא "זמנו", עת לימוד פרקי אבות, שפרסם חבורו בזה, ובלשון חכמינו ז"ל בפרק של שבת זו - מרבה תורה - מרבה חיים, מרבה ישיבה - מרבה חכמה.

Rabbi Chadakov informed me on the eve of Rosh Chodesh about your request for a blessing regarding... May it be G‑d's will that you share good news regarding your request. The merit of your activities—surely conducted according to the directive to ascend in holiness (and for this one needs peace of mind and body)—will stand by you for tranquility of soul also in this matter, so that everything will be arranged properly. With joy and gladness of heart may you use your talents to spread Judaism to the fullest extent and share good news in this as well.
On this occasion I wish to express my great satisfaction regarding your participation in the celebration of the Achei Tmimim Lubavitch Yeshiva in Boston. As I was informed, your appearance and speech made a strong impression, showing that your words came from the heart. Although "the reward for a mitzvah is the mitzvah itself," and you have already received your reward, I want to let you know that I especially enjoyed the above. My strong hope is that you will continue as above—increasing in holiness—to assist in the development of Chabad educational institutions within all institutions dedicated to purity and holiness.
Blessings for good news in all the above matters and regards to your son Rabbi Amos. With respect.
P.S. I recall that you once told me your origins are from Volozhin. But it is understood that this does not contradict at all participating in Lubavitch matters; indeed, my own practice is to participate. If you would say otherwise—on the contrary! According to what was said above, participation should be doubled and more so. Especially now is "the time," during the study of Pirkei Avos—a subject on which you published a work—and as our Sages say in this week's chapter: "He who increases Torah increases life; he who increases sitting [study] increases wisdom."
