... ויסביר לאבי המדוברת אשר ענין החינוך הכשר של בני ובנות ישראל בתקופתנו זו הוא עתה מצוה שאי אפשר לעשותה על ידי אחרים, כיון כל' רבותינו ז"ל אין עשיתם מספקת כלל וכלל, ומצוה כזו דוחה אפילו מצות תלמוד תורה שהיא שקולה כנגד כל המצות, ועל אחת כמה וכמה שדוחה חשבונות כספיים וגשמיים.
ויהי רצון אשר בורא עולם המשגיח על כל אחד ואחת בהשגחה פרטית ינחהו בטוב לפניו בגשם וברוח גם יחד.

...And explain to the father of the person in question that the matter of proper education (chinuch) for the sons and daughters of Israel in our times is now a mitzvah that cannot be fulfilled by others, since, as our Sages say, the actions of others are not sufficient at all. Such a mitzvah even overrides the mitzvah of Torah study—which is equal to all other mitzvos—and all the more so it overrides financial and material considerations.
May it be G‑d's will that the Creator of the world, Who watches over each and every individual with Divine Providence, guide him for good both materially and spiritually.
