ידי התשובה על החטאים וע"י לימוד התורה וקיום מצותי' תבוא מיד גאולתנו האמיתית והשלימה ע"י משיח צדקנו -
אבוא בזה עוד הפעם להזכיר ולהדגיש הזכות המיוחדת בכל זה שיש לילדי ישראל,
וכמובן גם מדברי חכמינו ז"ל תיכף בתחלת מדרש

- בגודל מעלת ירושלים שהייתה רבתי בגוים (ע"י שהייתה רבתי) בדעות - בחכמה ומביאים דוגמא לזה ובה

סיפורים ע"ד חכמתם של תינוק ותינוקת ושל עוד תינוק כו' ושני סיפורים אודות חכמתם של תלמידי בית הספר,
אף שבמדרש, כבכל חלקי התורה, אין בו יתר ח"ו, וכל סיפור וענין ואפילו תיבה אחת - מדויקים הם בתכלית וקדושים.

יביא לידי מעשה והנהגה ע"פ התורה בחיי יום יום,
ובמיוחד בימים אלה - המזכירים החורבן וסיבתו (חטאינו) - להרבות בתורה ובמצותי' ובפרט בצדקה, כולל גם יום הט' באב (בדברים
המותרים
ללמוד ביום זה).
ויהי רצון שבקרוב ממש נזכה כולנו, בתוך כלל ישראל, לקיום הבטחת

Shalom u'Vrachah!
In continuation of the letter from the 9th of Tammuz and as we stand before Rosh Chodesh Menachem Av and the first nine days of this month—when the unique aspect of all three weeks of Bein HaMetzarim is especially emphasized: because of our sins we were exiled from our land and our Beis HaMikdash was destroyed. From this it is also understood that through teshuvah for our sins and through Torah study and fulfillment of its mitzvos, our true and complete redemption will come immediately through Moshiach Tzidkeinu—I come once again to remind and emphasize the special merit that Jewish children have in all this.
This is also evident from the words of our Sages at the very beginning of Midrash Eichah—about the greatness of Jerusalem which was "rabbati bagoyim" (great among nations) because it was great in wisdom. They bring examples for this with seven stories about the wisdom of a boy and a girl, another boy, etc., and two stories about the wisdom of schoolchildren. Even though in Midrash—as in every part of Torah—there is no extra letter or word, and every story or matter, even a single word, is precise and holy.
They also recount that there were in Jerusalem four hundred twenty-four schools for teaching Mikra (Scripture), four hundred twenty-four schools for teaching Mishnah, and four hundred twenty-four schools for teaching Talmud. The purpose of these stories is that every Jewish child should do everything possible to be like them—through diligence and perseverance in Torah study so that learning leads to action and conduct according to Torah in daily life. Especially during these days—which recall the destruction and its cause (our sins)—to increase in Torah and mitzvos, particularly tzedakah, including on Tisha B'Av (in those things permitted to learn on that day).
May it be G‑d's will that very soon we will all merit, together with all Israel, the fulfillment of Hashem Elokei Yisrael's promise Who alone does wonders: "Zion will be redeemed with justice (Torah) and her returnees with tzedakah," and these days will be transformed into joy and gladness.

Summary
The Rebbe teaches that even young children have a unique role during times of mourning for the Beis HaMikdash by increasing Torah study, mitzvos, and tzedakah—actions which hasten redemption. Every child’s effort brings us closer to transforming sorrow into joy.
