במענה על מכתבה מכ"ו סיון, בו כותבת אודות אסיפת הסיום לפני ימי החופש.
- וכבר ידוע אחד הטעמים למנהג ישראל שמתחילים מבראשית תיכף להסיום דלעיני כל ישראל, והוא להדגיש שאין מפסיקים מענין לימוד התורה ואין שייך בזה סיום, ומזה מובן לכל עבודה בקדש החזקת היהדות והפצתה שאין בזה ענין של סיום ואפשרי רק שינוי צורת העבודה ואופנה שצריכה להתאים בכל זמן ותקופה לפי ענינם.
ובטחוני חזק שגם בהנוגע לסניף נשי ובנות חב"ד דטרנטה תהי' הנהגה האמורה, זאת אומרת שבאסיפת הסיום דהעבודה המתאימה לזמן הלימוד של הנוער ידונו ויתחילו בהכנות להעבודה המתאימה לימי החופש של הנוער מבתי הספר. וכבר נדבר באיזו מההתועדויות אשר דוקא בימים הנקראים ימי חופש, עבודת החינוך גדולה יותר ואחראית יותר והסיכוים להצלחה מתרבים כיון שאין הענין דלימודי חול המסיחים דעתם של התלמידים-ות ועי"ז גם של ההורים מלימוד קדש ועניניהם...

In response to your letter from the 26th of Sivan, in which you write about the end-of-year gathering before the summer break. It is already known that one of the reasons for the Jewish custom to begin Bereishis immediately after completing "Le'einei Kol Yisrael" (in front of all Israel) is to emphasize that there is no interruption in Torah study and there is no concept of an 'end' here. From this it is understood regarding all holy work—supporting and spreading Judaism—that there is no concept of an end; only a change in the form and manner of work, which should be adapted for each time and period according to its nature.
I am confident that also regarding the Nshei U'Bnos Chabad branch in Toronto, this approach will be followed. That is, at the end-of-year gathering appropriate for the school term for youth, they will discuss and begin preparations for activities suitable for the summer break for youth from schools.
It has already been discussed at one of the farbrengens that specifically during what are called "vacation days," educational work is greater and more responsible, and the chances for success increase since there are no secular studies distracting students—and through them also their parents—from sacred studies and their matters...

Summary
The Rebbe teaches that Torah study and Jewish education have no true conclusion; even during summer break, efforts must continue by adapting activities to fit the season. The responsibility for education increases when distractions are fewer, making these times especially fruitful.
