תקותי חזקה, אשר מכאן ולהבא יתענין כבו', וכן אחיו הנכבדים שי', בעבודת המרכז לעניני חינוך לכל פרטי' ויתנו לנו עזרתם בכל אפשריותם ויכלתם.
כי עבודה זו מרובת גונים היא, ובלי ספק אשר כמה סניפים ממנה יענינו אותם ביותר ויוכלו להשתתף בהם בעצמם וכן ע"י השפעתם על אחרים.
בפרשת השבוע על הפסוק (ויגש מו, כח) ואת יהודא שלח לפניו פירש"י לתקן לו בית תלמוד, כי קודם שבא יעקב למצרים - מקום חדש - כבר הכין לו שם בית מדרש, ודאג לחינוך בניו ובנותיו.
וכמו שהוא במקום כך הוא בזמן, שכל הרוצה שגם בעתיד יהי' דור ישרים יבורך מבני ובנות ישראל עליו להשתדל לעשות בעוד מועד כל ההכנות הדרושות לזה, וזהו ענין החינוך שמדריכים ילדים וילדות מקטנותם בדרך הטוב והישר.
ותפקיד "מרכז לעניני חינוך" ומטרתו אשר הציג לו כ"ק מו"ח אדמור שליט"א ביסדו את ה"מרכז" ובהעמיסו עול הנהלת ועד הפועל על שכמי, הוא להשתדל שתהי' הדרכה זו על טהרת הקודש ומבלי חלוק מפלגה, כי מתענין המרכז לעיני חינוך בכל חוגי עם ישראל, חסידים, עולם'שע, ובני אונגארן, בני פולין, וכו'. וכל המשתתף בעבודה זו הרי הוא ממיסדי ובוני הדור הצעיר שיהיו לגאון ולתפארת עמנו בני ישראל.
בתקוה לשמוע ממנו בענינים של פועל לעתים תכופות, ובברכה לאלתר לתשובה לאלתר לגאולה.

My strong hope is that from now on you, as well as your esteemed brothers, will take an interest in the work of the Central Organization for Education in all its details and will give us your assistance to the fullest extent possible. This work is multifaceted, and without a doubt there are several branches of it that will interest you most and in which you can participate personally as well as by influencing others.
In this week's parsha, on the verse (Vayigash 46:28) "Ve'et Yehudah shalach lefanav" ("And he sent Yehudah ahead of him"), Rashi explains: to establish a house of study for him. Before Yaakov came to Egypt—a new place—he had already prepared a beit midrash there and cared for the education of his sons and daughters. Just as this applies to place, so too it applies to time: anyone who wants that in the future there should be a blessed generation of upright sons and daughters of Israel must strive to make all necessary preparations in advance. This is the concept of chinuch—educating boys and girls from their earliest years in the good and upright path.
The role and purpose of the "Central Organization for Education," as set forth by my revered father-in-law, the Rebbe shlita, when he founded it and placed upon me the burden of managing its executive committee, is to ensure that this guidance is purely holy and without party divisions. The Central Organization for Education is concerned with education among all circles of our people—Chassidim, worldly Jews, Hungarian Jews, Polish Jews, etc.
Anyone who participates in this work is among those who establish and build up the young generation who will be a pride and glory to our people Israel.
