בטח פרש לו מר... שי' פ"ש[1] ממני וכן הבקשה בהנוגע להפרדה בין נערים ונערות בכתות הלמוד. לאחר מכן נעם לי לקבל ידיעות מהשקפת עולם של כבודו ונוכחתי לדעת אשר הכרח ההפרדה הריהו גם השקפתו הוא. אף על פי כן הרי אמרו חכמינו ז"ל אין מזרזין אלא למזורזין, וגם רואים בטבע האדם שכשיודע שנמצא לו אח לדיעה הריהו מתחזק בבטחונו בהצלחת הענין.
בטח מסר לו מר... שי' ג"כ הדגשתי בנקודה שענין ההפרדה באמת אינה שאלה דתית לבד אלא גם שאלה מוסרית ואת"ל ג"כ חינוכית המתקבלת על הלב, כי ידוע ההירוס הגדול מחינוך תערובת מנקודת המוסר וכן מנקודת החינוך והלימוד בפשטות המשפיע בשלילה על שימת לב התלמידים והתלמידות הן בשמירת הלימודים והן בעבודה במעבדות שבמשך זמן לא ארוך משפיע גם על הבנתם בלימודם וכו'. ובודאי אשר לדכוותי' האריכות בזה אך למותר. ובהסברה המתאימה והמתמדת בטח אפשר לשכנע את אלה שיש להם דיעה ויכולת לתקן הדבר, ויהי רצון אשר יזכם השי"ת לקבל דבריו במילואם להביא הענין לידי פועל ממש ובהקדם.
והרי האדם עץ השדה, ובקטנותו דומה הוא לשתיל רך שאפילו סריטה קלה עלולה להשאיר מום באילן הגדול, שלכן ההקדם כל כך חשוב ביחוד בתיקון עניני החינוך.
ולקראת חג המצות, זמן חירותנו הבא עלינו ועל כל ישראל לטובה ולברכה, ברכתי שלוחה לכ' לחג הפסח כשר ושמח ולחירות אמתית ממצרים וגבולים ומכל דבר המבלבל בגשם וברוח.

Surely Mr... has conveyed my regards as well as the request regarding separation between boys and girls in study classes.
Afterwards, I was pleased to receive information about your worldview and I realized that the necessity of separation is also your perspective. Nevertheless, our Sages of blessed memory said: "We only urge those who are already diligent," and we also see in human nature that when one knows he has an ally in his opinion, his confidence in the success of the matter is strengthened.
Surely Mr... has also conveyed that I emphasized the point that the matter of separation is truly not only a religious question but also a moral one—and if you will, also an educational one—which is accepted by the heart. For it is well known the great harm caused by mixed education from both a moral standpoint and from an educational and learning perspective in simple terms; it negatively affects the attention of both male and female students—both in keeping up with studies and in laboratory work—which over time also impacts their understanding of their studies, etc.
Certainly for your honor, elaboration on this is unnecessary. With proper and consistent explanation, it should surely be possible to convince those who have opinions and ability to correct this matter. May it be G‑d's will that He grant you merit to have your words fully accepted so as to bring this matter into actual practice—and swiftly.
For man is like a tree of the field; in his youth he resembles a tender sapling where even a slight scratch can leave a blemish on the grown tree. Therefore, promptness is so important—especially regarding correcting matters of education.
As we approach Pesach—the Festival of our Freedom—may my blessing reach you for a kosher and joyous Pesach and for true freedom from Egypt and all boundaries, from anything that confuses physically or spiritually.
