איך בין געווען צופרידען צו באקומען אייער בריף - אן דעם דאטום פון שרייבען - אין וועלכען איר זאגט אן די גוטע בשורה וועגען אייער זון... שי'. און זיכער ווען מען זעט נסים פון השם יתברך דארף דאס ווירקען אויף דער גאנצער משפחה צו שטארקען זיך מער אין ענינים פון תורה ומצות, וואס דער שטארקען זיך אין דעם איילט צו די ברכות פון השי"ת אויך אין אנדערע זאכען וועגען וועלכע איר שרייבט אין אייער בריף.
און דאס וואס איר שרייבט וועגען מאדערנע... דארפט איר ערקלערען אלע אייערע קינדער, אז הקדוש ברוך הוא איז דער זעלביקער ווי ער איז געווען אמאל מיט הונדערטער יארן צוריק און אזוי אויך תורה איז די זעלבע ווי אמאל, און השם יתברך פירט די וועלט ווי עס [איז] געווען אמאל, און דעריבער דארפמען זיך אנהאלטען אין דעם וועג וואס די תורה האט אנגעוויזען, וואס דאס איז דער איינציקער וועג פאר אידען צו אויפנעמען די ברכות פון השם יתברך אין דעם וואס מען נויטיגט זיך.
און ווען אייערע קינדער וועלען זיך אזוי אויפפירען וועט איר זיכער קענען אנזאגען גוטע בשורות וועגען די אלע זאכען וואס איר שרייבט אין אייער בריף.

I was pleased to receive your letter—without a date of writing—in which you share the good news regarding your son... may he live.
Certainly, when one sees miracles from Hashem Yisbarech, this should influence the entire family to further strengthen themselves in matters of Torah and mitzvos. Strengthening oneself in these areas hastens the blessings from Hashem Yisbarech also in other matters about which you wrote in your letter.
Regarding what you write about modernity... you must explain to all your children that Hakadosh Baruch Hu is the same as He was hundreds of years ago, and likewise, the Torah is the same as it was then. Hashem Yisbarech runs the world just as He did in earlier times. Therefore, one must conduct oneself according to the path that Torah has instructed us, for this is the only way for Jews to receive blessings from Hashem Yisbarech in whatever they need.
And when your children conduct themselves in this way, you will surely be able to report good news regarding all those matters about which you wrote in your letter.
