Shalom u'Vrachah!
It was a pleasant surprise for me to receive your letter from the 30th of Av and to see your interest in the situation of the yeshiva "Achai Temimim" in your city, Rishon LeTzion, in addition to the reports that have reached me from other sources for some time now.
Especially since my strong hope is that your interest is expressed—according to our Sages’ saying "action is the main thing"—in actual deeds: helping as much as possible the yeshiva "Achai Temimim" within the framework of our Torah institutions in your city.
It is understood that if in every Jewish community and throughout all periods Torah institutions were among the most essential and vital matters in our people’s lives, how much more so in our holy land about which it is said: "the eyes of Hashem are upon it from the beginning of the year until year's end," and especially in our era filled with events and upheavals and blurred boundaries, when the necessity for Torah—as instruction—in daily life is immeasurably greater.
By Divine Providence you have been given exceptional opportunities and abilities to act directly in your city along these lines; and goodness is abundant—may others see and follow your example so that other towns and settlements of Jews in our holy land will do likewise, with the merit of the many assisting.
Of course, I am as involved as possible with the state of our institutions wherever they are found, with those in Eretz HaKodesh among the first; but unfortunately, resources are far from meeting all needs.
Based on your letter's tone—and as above—it is unnecessary to ask you to continue your help and support for Yeshiva "Achai Temimim" in your city; rather I thank you for past assistance and express my strong hope that you will continue even more so in future. Also regarding your colleagues and those who heed your influence—may you inspire them similarly.
May it be G‑d’s will that you see good fruit from your efforts here, and generally in all matters concerning the city—that it be worthy of its name "Rishon LeTzion," from which Torah and the word of Hashem will go forth.
With honor and blessing for a good inscription and sealing for a good and sweet year.
