בנועם קבלתי מכתבן בו כותבות, על כל פנים ראשי פרקים, מפעולותיהן להקל חבלי הקליטה של אחינו בני ובנות ישראל שעלו לאחרונה מארצות המצוקה לארצנו הקדושה
ארץ
טובה ורחבה, ובפרט אלה שעלו מאחורי "מסך הברזל",
אשר בוודאי עוד כמה וכמה עוסקות בפעולה הכי חשובה הזאת, ובאות הן בדברים זו עם זו, שעל ידי זה בוודאי תתרבה ההצלחה.
כן בטוחני אשר מדגישות הן ככל הדרוש אשר כל אחד ואחת מעמנו עם בני ישראל דרך החיים שלהם היא הנהגה דחיי היום יום על פי תורתנו תורת חיים,
אשר בכל מקום ובכל זמן כן הוא, ועל אחת כמה וכמה בארצנו הקדושה,

אשר תמיד עיני ה"א בה מראשית השנה ועד אחרית שנה,
ובהתאם לזה כל אחת מהפעילות בשטח זה עוזרת להם במיוחד לסדר חייהם על יסוד תורתנו תורת חיים ומצותיה

וחי בהם, ומעודדות אותם שלא להתרשם מהקושיים שישנם בזה לפעמים.
ואלה מן הבאים משם שמפני סיבות בלתי תלויות בהם לא היתה להם אפשרות לתת לבניהם ולבנותיהם חינוך על טהרת תורתנו הטהורה ואולי על ידי זה הורגלו למנהגים בלתי מתאימים, הרי ברור הוא שבתנאי חייהם הקודמים אנוסים היו וכו'.
ואדרבה, ומה אם בתנאים ההם התגברו על מכשולים ועיכובים הכי גדולים, ולפעמים עד כדי סכנה ממש, ושמרו על גחלת היהדות, פּינטעלע איד, שישנו בשלמות בכל אחד ואחת מבני ישראל בכל מקום שהם, ובחרף נפש שמרו על כל דין ואפילו מנהג ישראל שידעו עליו ויכלו לנהוג בו אם כי מתוך מסירות-נפש – הנה כשיצאו לרווחה ונמצאים בארץ אשר גם אווירה קדוש וכוחות מיוחדים ניתנו מאת ה' בורא עולם ומנהיגו להתנהג בה על פי רצון ה' והוראותיו בתורתו, הרי בוודאי ובוודאי אשר מתוך הרחבה ושמחה וטוב לבב יסדרו חייהם כך, ולכל לראש חינוך הבנים והבנות באופן המתאים לגוי קדוש הדר בארץ-הקודש.

, הרי רק ההתחלה קשה ולאחרי זה יתקטנו ויתמעטו הקושיים ועד לביטולם. וביחוד על ידי העידוד והעזר בגשם וברוח שיקבלו מכל אחד ואחת אשר נפש אחת מישראל יקרה בעיניהם, על אחת כמה וכמה אלו הנפשות היקרות שעמדו במסירות-נפש ושמרו על הגחלת, אשר

ויהי רצון אשר הפעילות האמורה תפעול עד כדי כך, אשר הזקוקים לעידוד ולעזר היום, הנה בקרוב ממש ייהפכו למעודדים ולעוזרים גם הם לאלה הנמצאים בסביבתם ולאחינו ולאחיותינו שליט"א אשר עלו ויעלו אחריהם, ובאופן דמוסיף והולך.
בברכת הצלחה בעבודתן הכי גדולה וחשובה, הצלת נפשות במובן הרוחני, אשר בנוגע עם קדוש הרי הרוחניות והגשמיות יחד ילכו, זאת אומרת הצלה גם בגשם, ובאופן דמוסיף והולך מוסיף ואור,
ולבשורות טובות בכל האמור.
נ.ב. מובן אשר אף שמכתבי נכתב להן, הרי הדברים מופנים לכל אלה שיצטרפו או כבר נצטרפו עליהן בתוככי כללות בני ישראל שליט"א, אשר בוודאי בהתעוררות המתאימה גם הם ישתפו פעולה בכל האמור. ובפרט שרואים במוחש אשר האישה והבת מצליחות בפעולה זו עוד יותר מהאיש והבן. ובכל פעילות זו וכיוצא בזו ידועים

May Hashem be upon you; may you live! Blessings and peace!
I received your letter pleasantly, in which you write—at least the main points—about your activities to ease the absorption pains of our brothers and sisters who have recently immigrated from lands of distress to our holy land, a good and spacious land. Especially those who came from behind the Iron Curtain. Certainly many more are engaged in this most important work, and they communicate with each other, which surely increases success.
I am also confident that you emphasize as needed that every one of us among Bnei Yisrael lives their daily life according to our Torah, a Torah of life—which applies everywhere and at all times—and all the more so in our holy land, a land upon which the eyes of Hashem are always from the beginning of the year to its end. Accordingly, each activist in this area helps them especially to arrange their lives based on our Torah and its mitzvos about which it is said "and you shall live by them," encouraging them not to be discouraged by difficulties that sometimes arise.
As for those who came from there who, due to circumstances beyond their control, could not give their children an education pure according to our holy Torah—and perhaps because of this became accustomed to inappropriate customs—it is clear that under their previous living conditions they were coerced, etc. On the contrary: if under those conditions they overcame the greatest obstacles and hindrances—even risking their lives at times—and preserved the spark of Judaism (the "pintele Yid") that exists fully within every Jew everywhere; with self-sacrifice they kept every law or even custom of Israel they knew about and could observe—then now that they have come into freedom and are in a land whose very air is holy and special strengths are given by Hashem, Creator and Ruler of the world, to live according to His will as instructed in His Torah—certainly they will now arrange their lives with expansiveness, joy, and gladness of heart. First and foremost: educating sons and daughters fitting for a holy nation dwelling in Eretz HaKodesh.
And certainly even if at times the beginning is hard—it is only the beginning that is hard; afterwards the difficulties will diminish until they disappear entirely. Especially through encouragement and help—materially and spiritually—that they receive from everyone who values even one Jewish soul; how much more so these precious souls who stood with self-sacrifice preserving the spark whose flames are like fiery coals; encouragement and help given with great joy, vitality, and chassidic enthusiasm based on the teachings of our Rebbeim zatzal (may their merit protect us), whose love for Hashem, love for Torah, and love for Israel are one.
May it be G‑d's will that these activities succeed so much that those needing encouragement today will soon themselves become encouragers and helpers for others around them—for our brothers and sisters who have come or will come after them—in an ever-increasing manner.
With blessings for success in your greatest and most important work: saving souls spiritually—which regarding a holy nation means both spirituality and materiality go together—that is: saving also materially; may it continue ever-increasingly with added light. And may you have good news regarding all mentioned above.
P.S. It is understood that although my letter was written to you (the group), its words are directed also at all those who join or have already joined you among all Bnei Yisrael—who certainly with proper inspiration will also cooperate in all mentioned above. Especially since it is clearly seen that women and girls succeed even more than men and boys in this work. In all such activity it is well known what our Sages said: "Greater is the promise G‑d gave women than men."
