Shalom u'Vrachah!

I pleasantly received your letter from the 27th of Elul, in which you write about your holy position at the Oholei Yosef Yitzchak Lubavitch school in Lod.

Regarding the greatness and value of this matter, there is certainly no need for explanation or elaboration. I only wish to emphasize, based on our Sages' saying "perhaps it is a significant matter," especially regarding a tzaddik who is the leader of Israel—a faithful shepherd does not abandon his flock even upon ascending to heaven; he stands and arouses abundant mercy for all their affairs. In the words of the holy Zohar as cited in Iggeres HaKodesh by our master the Alter Rebbe: "A tzaddik who has passed away is found in all worlds more than during his lifetime." How much more so regarding a tzaddik who is a leader of Israel, a general soul who connects with individual souls—those attached to him and who follow in his ways—especially those fulfilling his directives in matters for which he gave his life during his lifetime. Regarding our revered teacher my father-in-law, this refers to education according to Torah and specifically illuminated by the light and warmth of Chassidus and its teachings. From this it is understood that every effort and exertion is worthwhile in this matter and in a holy institution bearing his name, bringing nachas ruach (pleasure) to the soul of the tzaddik-leader. Through this he adds even more arousal of mercy for the success of the institution and all those involved.

When difficulties appear or opposition arises—even sometimes from those who should be supporting with full strength—this itself is proof that "Hashem your G‑d is testing you to know..." As is known, the test here is that any action or opposition of this sort prevents a Jew from Torah and mitzvos; its source is not from holiness. See Hayom Yom, 23 Sivan.

May it be G‑d's will that you fully utilize the success and blessing bestowed from Above, so that this Chabad school will be firmly established among other institutions of the network and Chabad institutions generally. Certainly there will be increased blessings from Hashem for each one involved—both materially and spiritually.

It is understood and obvious that all that was said applies to all staff—teachers (male and female), administration members, and everyone assisting or striving in this most lofty matter—may they live long.

With blessings for inscription (in the Book of Life) and a good final sealing, for good news as above.

Summary

The Rebbe teaches that perseverance in sacred educational work brings spiritual merit not only to oneself but also draws down blessings upon one's institution. Even when facing opposition or difficulty—especially from unexpected sources—it serves as a test meant to strengthen commitment.
