I was pleased to receive your letter informing me of your improved health, and may it be G‑d's will that you continue from good to even better.

It is surprising that you do not write in detail whether any practical effect resulted from the greetings and words that were surely conveyed by the guests from Eretz HaKodesh upon their return.

As discussed at the farbrengen several times and also this past Shabbat Mevarchim, idle words are not only when one speaks about trivial matters; rather, even if one speaks with a certain intent and purpose but those intentions and purposes do not come into action, then those words become idle words. The intent and purpose of a farbrengen and words of inspiration are that they should bring about some positive result and actual deed—not just satisfaction at hearing them—then the word is pleasing.

May it be G‑d's will that I merit and succeed to receive good news in this regard.

We conclude with good tidings: on Erev Shabbat Bereishit your grandson Aharon Menachem shlita was brought into cheder—may it be G‑d's will that from "five years old for Chumash he will grow to ten for Mishnah, thirteen for mitzvos," etc., as ruled in the Mishnah.

And regarding your good news that on Monday M"Ch your grandson Yosef Simchah shlita was brought into cheder—may it be G‑d's will that he grow up to be a chassid, G‑d-fearing, and a scholar. May he and his wife sheyichyu derive much chassidic nachas from their sons, sons-in-law, and all their descendants sheyichyu.

Summary

The Rebbe teaches that inspiration must lead to concrete action; otherwise, even well-intentioned words become empty. Farbrengens should motivate us toward real change and mitzvah observance.
