Shalom u'Vrachah!

With pleasure I received the news that a son was born to you—mazal tov! I hereby express my blessing that you and your wife should raise him to Torah, chuppah, and good deeds, together with your other children, with peace of mind and body.

It is known the saying of my father-in-law, the Rebbe zatzal, based on our Sages: that the ways of the Holy One are measure for measure. All who are involved in proper education—G‑d pays them measure for measure: they will raise their own children in ner mitzvah v'Torah or v'derech chayim (the lamp of mitzvah and Torah is light and the way of life), etc. May it be His will that you will be able to inform me frequently of good news regarding the fulfillment of these blessings.

Enclosed is an excerpt from what I said at a farbrengen regarding the month of Elul, which will surely interest you—and most importantly, that it should lead to positive action. As our Sages say: "Not study but action is primary."
