Shalom u'Vrachah!
It gave me pleasure to hear about the good work of the women on behalf of the Beis Rivka Schools, especially regarding the pioneering undertakings—the annual event, the inauguration of the Crown Heights division, and the initiative of the West Side division.
I hope that all these undertakings will strengthen and expand the activities of these esteemed women's divisions for the Beis Rivka Schools, in accordance with our Sages' directive—ma'alin bakodesh (to ascend in holiness)—to increase in holy work, especially such a sacred task as providing pure education according to Torah values at Beis Rivka Schools.
In this week's Torah portion and those that follow, our holy Torah tells us what happened with our forefathers and foremothers. Our Sages say that "whatever happened to the forefathers is a sign for their children." Naturally, this includes what happened with our foremothers—Sarah, Rivkah, Rachel, and Leah. Their trials and their devotion to raising generations of faithful Jewish children—sons and daughters of Avraham, Yitzchak, Yaakov, Sarah, Rivkah, Rachel, and Leah—are a sign and lesson for all Jewish women, especially those of our generation.
The practical lesson is that when difficulties or even obstacles arise, it is certain that these are merely tests ("tests") that Hashem places before a Jew in order to draw out greater strengths—even hidden ones—to overcome these difficulties. These challenges are meant from the outset to be overcome. All that is needed is a stronger willpower because Hashem has already previously given each person all necessary strengths to fulfill his or her mission.
Of course, fulfilling this mission is the greatest merit and true happiness for each individual and their families. May they be blessed by Hashem from His full hand—materially and spiritually—in everything they need.
