עס האט מיר געפרייט צו הערען וועגן דער גוטער ארבעט פון די פרויען לטובת די "בית רבקה" סקולס, און בפרט וועגען די פארשטטייענדע אונטערנעמונגען - דער יערלעכער לאנטשאן, די חנוכת הבית פון דער קראונהייטס אפטיילונג, און די אונטערנעמונג פון דער וועסט-סייד אפטיילונג.
איך האף, אז די אלע אונטערנעמונגען וועלן פארשטארקען און אויסברייטערען די אויפטואונגען פון די חשובע פרויען אפטיילונגען פאר די בית-רבקה סקולס, אין איינקלאנג מיט דער פארארדענונג פון אונזערע חכמים, זכרונם לברכה, - מעלין בקודש[2] - צו שטייגען אין הייליגע ארבעט, בפרט אזא הייליגע ארבעט ווי דער חינוך הכשר על טהרת הקדש פון די בית רבקה סקולס.
אין דער היינטיגע סדרה[3] און אין די קומענדע סדרות, דערציילט אונז די תורה הק'[4] וואס עס האט פאסירט מיט אונזערע אבות און אמהות. די חכמים, זכרונם לברכה, זאגען, אז "דאס וואס עס האט פאסירט מיט די אבות איז אן אנדייטונג פאר די קינדער"[5]. אין דעם גייט אריין, נאטירלעך, אויך דאס וואס עס האט פאסירט מיט אונזערע אמהות, שרה, רבקה רחל און לאה. זייערע נסיונות און זייער איבערגעבענהייט אויפצושטעלען דורות פון טרייע אידישע קינדער, בני ובנות אברהם, יצחק, יעקב, שרה, רבקה, רחל ולאה - זיינען אן אנדייטונג און לערנונג פאר אלע אידישע פרויען, בפרט פאר די פרויען פון אונזער דור. די פראקטישע לערע דערפון איז, אז ווען עס ווייזט זיך ארויס אז עס זיינען דא שוועריקייטען, אדער אפילו שטערונגען, איז דאס א זיכערע זאך, אז דאס זיינען בלויז נסיונות[6], פרואופונגען ("טעסטס"), וואס דער אויבערשטער שטעלט א אידען, כדי ארויסצורופען בא אים, אדער בא איר, גרעסערע כוחות און אפילו באהאלטענע כוחות אויף בייצוקומען די שוועריקייטען, וועלכע זיינען לכתחילה געמיינט בייגעקומען צו ווערען. עס פאדערט זיך בלויז דער שטארקער ווילען, ווייל דער אויבערשטער האט שוין פריער געגעבען די נויטיגע כוחות דערצו[7], צו דערפילען יעדער איינער און איינע זיין-[איר]ע אויפגאבע. זעלבסטפארשטענדלעך, אז צו דערפילען די אויפגאבע איז דער גרעסטער זכות און אמת'ער גליק פאר יעדער איינער בפרט, זיי און זייערע פאמיליעס, און געבענטשט צו ווערען פון השם יתברך פון זיין פולער האנט[8], מאטעריעל און גייסטיג, אין אלעס אין וואס מען נויטיגט זיך.

To the Women's Divisions of the "Beis Rivkah" Schools, may G‑d grant them life
Brachah v'Shalom!
I was pleased to hear about the good work of the women on behalf of the "Beis Rivkah" schools, and in particular about the upcoming events: the annual luncheon, the dedication of the Crown Heights division's building, and the event of the West Side division.
I hope that all these events will strengthen and broaden the accomplishments of the esteemed women's divisions for the Beis Rivkah schools, in keeping with the directive of our Sages, of blessed memory, מעלין בקודש "one ascends in holiness" (Shabbos 21b), to keep rising in holy work, especially such holy work as the kosher education, in purity and holiness, of the Beis Rivkah schools.
In this week's Torah portion and in the coming portions, the holy Torah tells us what happened to our forefathers and foremothers. Our Sages, of blessed memory, say that מעשה אבות סימן לבנים "what happened to the forefathers is a sign for the children" (see Ramban on Bereishis 12:6, citing Tanchuma). This naturally includes also what happened to our Matriarchs, Sarah, Rivkah, Rachel and Leah. Their trials and their devotion to raising generations of loyal Jewish children, sons and daughters of Avraham, Yitzchak, Yaakov, Sarah, Rivkah, Rachel and Leah, are a sign and a lesson for all Jewish women, especially for the women of our generation. The practical lesson from this is that when it turns out that there are difficulties, or even obstacles, it is a certainty that these are only trials, tests, which the Almighty sets before a Jew in order to call forth in him or in her greater strengths, and even hidden strengths, to overcome the difficulties, which from the outset were meant to be overcome. All that is required is a strong will, for the Almighty has already given beforehand the strengths needed for each man and each woman to fulfill his or her mission. It goes without saying that fulfilling the mission is the greatest merit and true good fortune for each one in particular, for them and their families, and brings blessing from G‑d, blessed be He, from His full hand (cf. לידך המלאה "to Your full hand," Grace after Meals), materially and spiritually, in everything that is needed.
