בינתים בטח קבל מע"כ שי' את מכתבי הרשמי לקרן ההצלה מיום ה' העבר.
חושבני כי למותר הוא להרחיב הדיבור לדכוותי' על דבר ההכרח החיוני שבעבודתנו זו וגודל דרישת השעה לא רק להחזיק מעמד והיקפה הנוכחי אלא גם להרחיבה ולהגדילה, כי בנפש כמה וכמה מבני ובנות ישראל הוא.
והנני כופל בקשתי לכ"מ שי' ביחוד, אשר מכיר הוא בטיב עבודה זו בכמותה ואיכותה ולא רק מפי השמועה אלא גם מאשר ראה בעיניו, ובטוח אני אשר ישתדל בכל עוז אשר קרן ההצלה דמחנו תקציב עזר הגון הן בעד עבודתנו באירופה ובארה"ק ת"ו והן בעד עבודתנו בצפון אפריקה.
וזכות כ"ק מו"ח אדמו"ר זצוקללה"ה נבג"מ זי"ע, שסלל לנו הדרך בעבודת העזרה וההצלחה במסירות נפש, בטח תעמוד לו להמשיך ולהשפיע לו שפעת ברכה והצלחה בעבודתו הציבורית ובעניניו הפרטים בגשמיות וברוחניות.

The esteemed rabbis Haraha"g and Haraha"ch vavac"h iy"a num"m etc. etc. Moharar Shmuel Levitin and Moharar Eliyahu Simpson told me about their visit with you and spoke highly of your positive attitude toward the work of Lubavitch in the fields of rescue and education, as well as your promise to assist us through our "Kerem HaHatzalah."
In the meantime, you have surely received my official letter to Kerem HaHatzalah from last Thursday.
I think it is unnecessary to elaborate to you about the vital necessity of this work and the urgent need not only to maintain its current scope but also to expand and increase it, as it concerns the very lives of many Jewish men and women.
I therefore repeat my request to you in particular, since you are familiar with this work both quantitatively and qualitatively—not only by hearsay but also from what you have seen firsthand—and I am confident that you will do your utmost so that our Kerem HaHatzalah will allocate proper assistance both for our work in Europe and Eretz HaKodesh (may it be rebuilt soon) as well as for our work in North Africa.
The merit of my revered father-in-law, the Rebbe zatzal—who paved the way for us in this work with self-sacrifice—will surely stand by you to draw down abundant blessing and success in your public service as well as in your personal affairs, materially and spiritually.
