To the community of Yeshurun, lovers and supporters of Torah and mitzvah, may Hashem be upon them and grant them life.

Shalom u'Vrachah!

Today, as this letter is being written, marks one hundred years since the birthday of the Rebbe Rashab, founder of Yeshivas Tomchei Temimim Lubavitch, established sixty-four years ago. Sixty years ago, at the beginning of the fourth year of the yeshiva in Lubavitch, during the Simchas Torah meal, the Rebbe Rashab said: I am muvtach (assured)—there is bitachon (trust) and muvtach (assurance), I assume everyone knows the difference between bitachon and muvtach—I am muvtach that the students of Tomchei Temimim, wherever they may be—and they will be in all four corners of the world—will with mesirus nefesh fulfill the higher purpose for which Hakadosh Baruch Hu desired to have a dwelling in the lower realms.

To create a "dwelling" for Hashem in this world means to spread G‑dly light through Torah and mitzvos and to bring holiness into daily life both personally and throughout one's surroundings.

No one can doubt that these holy words from the founder of Lubavitcher yeshivos have been completely fulfilled. The students—the temimim—have carried out and continue to carry out their mission with utmost mesirus nefesh, despite difficult experiences, decrees, and trials that Jews in general—and especially these students—have endured during all those shocking and turbulent years.

In every part of the world they have brought great revival—Judaism and education on pure holiness—and everywhere created a "dwelling" for Hashem.

Especially today, when uncertainty and turmoil in the world cast great fear due to dangerous means of destruction that division among nations could God forbid unleash—even more than before it is now a matter of life to create a "dwelling" for Hashem, King whose is peace—the true ruler of the world—the Master of peace—through spreading Torah and mitzvos which bring peace; through temimim students who are Torah scholars increasing peace in the world.

All those who participate in supporting and expanding Merkaz HaYeshivos Tomchei Temimim Lubavitch throughout the year—and especially on this occasion of its annual campaign—have an eternal merit. They create channels and vessels for Hashem's blessings—especially for true peace—which is itself a vessel for all blessings both materially and spiritually—for themselves and their families.
