ידידנו המחנך המצוין הרב ר' יעקב שי' העכט, מעסקני החנוך ומנהל מחלקת מגיני ומרחיבי החנוך הכשר אשר על-יד המרכז לעניני חנוך, מתעתד לבוא למחנו הט' לעשות ולפעול לטובת ענין השל"ה (ש עורי ל ימוד ה דת - "מיטוואך-שעה").
עבודת המל"ח בכלל ומחלקה זו בפרט - אשר על ידה כעשרת אלפים בני ובנות ישראל כ"י של הפאבליק סקולס מקבלים שעורי דת חנם - בטח ידוע לכת"ר שי'. עבודה זו אשר ת"ל גדלה והתרחבה מאד מאד דורשת אמצעים גדולים, והמצב הכספי הדחוק מאלצו לבוא למחנו להרים עזרה ממשית למען אשר מוסד גדול ויחידי זה בשדה החנוך הכשר לא יתמוטט ח"ו.
אי לזאת באתי לבקש את כת"ר שי' לקבל את הר"י שי' העכט בספ"י ולהושיט לו יד עזר כגודל השפעתו. והגם שמשער אני גודל טרדותיו המרובות לרגלי עבודתו הצבורית, בטוח אני שלבו ער לגודל ערך עבודה חינוכית זו ולא ימנע מלהיות אחיעזר במצוה גדולה ורמה זו הנוגעת בנפש אלפי בני ובנות ישראל. ותודתי אמורה לו מראש.

Our dear friend, the outstanding educator Rabbi Yaakov Hecht, one of the activists in education and director of the department for defenders and expanders of kosher education under the Central Organization for Education, is planning to come to our camp to act and work for the benefit of the Shelah project (Shiurei Limud Hadas – "Wednesday Hour").
The work of Melach in general and this department in particular – through which about ten thousand Jewish boys and girls from public schools receive free religious instruction – is surely known to your honor. This work, which thank G‑d has grown and expanded greatly, requires significant resources, and due to financial constraints he is compelled to come to our camp to raise real assistance so that this great and unique institution in the field of kosher education will not collapse G‑d forbid.
Therefore I have come to ask your honor to receive Rabbi Yaakov Hecht with special attention and extend a helping hand according to your influence. And although I estimate your many preoccupations due to your public work, I am confident that your heart is attuned to the great value of this educational effort and you will not refrain from being an Achiezer (supporter) in this great mitzvah that touches upon the souls of thousands of Jewish boys and girls.
