דער היי-יאר'דיגער יערלעכער באנקעט, וואס קומט פאר בלויז עטלעכע טעג נאך חנוכה, גיט א גלענצענדע געלעגענהייט צו פארוואנדלען בי באגייסטערונג פון דעם ליכטיגען יום-טוב אין פראקטישע מעשים.
דער מוסר פון צינדען חנוכה-ליכט אנטהאלט דריי יסודות'דיגע נקודות, וועלכע האבן א דירעקטע פארבינדונג מיט די פראבלעמען פון אונזער צייט און גיבן פראקטישע אנווייזונגען:
(א) די חנוכה-ליכט (וועלכע סימבאליזירן "נר מצוה ותורה אור") דארפן אנגעצונדן ווערן ווען עס איז פינסטער. דאס לערנט אונז, אז מען טאר ניט נתפעל ווערן פאר דער "פינסטערניש" און גייסטיגער ארעמקייט, ווייל אפילו א ביסעלע ליכטיקייט פון תורה און מצוות פארטרייבט א סך פינסטערניש.
(ב) די חנוכה-ליכט דארפן אנגעצונדן ווערן אזוי אז זייער ליכטיקייט זאל ארויסשיינען אין דרויסן. דאס לערנט אונז, אז מען טאר זיך ניט באגענוגענען דערמיט וואס בא זיך אינדערהיים איז ליכטיק און ווארעם מיט נר מצוה ותורה אור; מען מוז זיך באמיען אויך ליכטיג צו מאכן אין גאס און אין דער גאנצער סביבה.
(ג) די חנוכה-ליכט ווערן אנגעצונדן מוסיף והולך - מיט א ליכטעלע מער יעדע נאכט פון חנוכה. דאס לערנט אונז, אז די ארבעט צו פארשטארקן און פארשפרייטן תורה-אידישקייט דארף זיין אין א שטייגענדער מאס, און אז די דאזיגע ארבעט אנטהאלט שוין אין זיך אליין די פארזיכערונג אויף א שטייגענדעם דערפאלג.
אונזערע חכמים, זכרונם לברכה, אונטערשטרייכן, אז אויך די פרויען - פונקט ווי די מענער - זיינען מחוייב אין דער מצוה פון נר-חנוכה, ווייל די פרויען האבן אויך געהאט א חלק אין דעם נס-חנוכה. דערביי ווערט ספעציעל אונטערשטראכן די מסירות-נפש פון די אידישע פרויען אין יענער צייט צו באשיצן די קדושה פון דער אידישער היים און צו האלטן ריין און אומבאפלעקט דעם כבוד פון אידישע טעכטער.
היינט-צו-טאג, נאך מער ווי ווען עס איז, איז דער געבאט פון דער שעה צו דערציען אידישע טעכטער אין דעם גייסט פון זייער היסטארישע ראלע - אלס די פון וועמען עס איז אין א גאר גרויסער מאס אפהענגיק דער המשך פון דעם אידישן לעבנסוועג, און דער עצם קיום פון אונזער פאלק. און דאס איז געווען דער צוועק פון כ"ק אדמו"ר, מיין שווער, אין גרינדן די בית רבקה שולעס מיט צוואנציק יאר צוריק.
איך וויל האפן, אז יעדער איינער און איינע וועלן אנערקענען אלס א פערזענלעכע אחריות און זכות צו שטיצן די בית רבקה שולעס, מוסיף והולך, אין א שטייגענדער מאס.
בפרט אז די דאזיגע ארבעט און שטיצע זיינען א צנור צו באקומען דעם אויבערשטענ'ס ברכות, אין א שטייגענדער מאס, אין אלץ וואס מען נויטיגט זיך, מאטעריעל און גייסטיג.

Shalom u'Vrachah!
To the activists and friends of the Beis Rivkah schools in general, and to the participants in the twentieth annual banquet in particular—may Hashem be upon you and grant you life—greetings and blessings!
This year's annual banquet, taking place just a few days after Chanukah, provides a wonderful opportunity to channel the inspiration from this luminous festival into practical deeds.
The lesson from lighting the Chanukah candles contains three fundamental points that are directly connected to the challenges of our time and offer practical guidance: (a) The Chanukah lights (which symbolize "Ner Mitzvah v'Torah Or") must be kindled when it is dark. This teaches us not to be affected by "darkness" or spiritual poverty, because even a small amount of light from Torah and mitzvos dispels much darkness. (b) The Chanukah lights must be lit so that their brightness shines outward. This teaches us not to be satisfied with having light and warmth from Ner Mitzvah v'Torah Or only at home; we must also strive to bring light into the street and our entire environment. (c) The Chanukah lights are kindled with continual increase—adding one more candle each night of Chanukah. This teaches us that our work to strengthen and spread Torah-Jewishness should always increase, and that this very effort already contains within itself the assurance of increasing success.
Our Sages, of blessed memory, emphasize that women—just like men—are obligated in the mitzvah of Ner-Chanukah because they too had a share in the miracle of Chanukah. Special emphasis is placed on the self-sacrifice of Jewish women at that time to protect the sanctity of the Jewish home and preserve unblemished the honor of Jewish daughters.
Today more than ever before, there is an urgent call to raise Jewish daughters in the spirit of their historical role—as those upon whom so much depends regarding the continuation of Jewish life and even our people's very existence. This was also the purpose of my revered father-in-law, the Rebbe, in founding Beis Rivkah schools twenty years ago.
I hope that everyone will recognize it as a personal responsibility and privilege to support Beis Rivkah schools with ever-increasing dedication. Especially since this work and support serve as a conduit for receiving Hashem's blessings—in ever-increasing measure—in all one's needs, both material and spiritual.
