במענה על מכתבו עם הפ"נ המוסגר בו, בו כותב שאין לו טעם בעמלו בהתלמידים שבהמוסד בו עובד כי איננו רואה תועלת ופעולה עליהם.
והנה בענינים כמו אלו הרי ידוע מרז"ל בהדי כבשי דרחמנא למה לך ובפרט ע"פ המבואר בתניא פרק כ"ה, שיחוד זה (הנעשה ע"י פעולה טובה) למעלה הוא נצחי לעולם ועד, מובן שאין כוונתי שיסתפק בזה ח"ו כי צריך להביט על עצמו כבא כח נשיאינו הק' בהמוסד בו נמצא להוציא יקר מזולל אף כי אין אתנו יודע אם יהי' זה במילואו או רק הכנה או עוד פחות מזה, וכיון שנתנו לו שליחות זו בזמן זה ובמקום זה בודאי ניתנו לו הכחות למלאות השליחות אף אם אולי תתמהמה הראי' בעיני בשר סוף הדבר לבוא...

In response to your letter with the enclosed pan, in which you write that you find no satisfaction in your work with the students at the institution where you are employed because you do not see benefit or effect on them.
Regarding such matters, it is known from our Sages: "Behadei kavshei d'Rachmana lama lach" (Why do you concern yourself with the hidden ways of the Merciful One?), and especially as explained in Tanya chapter 25, that this unique unity (created by a good deed) above is eternal forever. It is understood that my intention is not that one should be satisfied with this alone, G‑d forbid, for one must see oneself as an agent of our holy Nesi'im in the institution where he finds himself to extract precious from worthless—even though none of us knows whether this will be fully accomplished or only a preparation or even less than that. And since this mission was given to him at this time and place, surely he was given the strengths to fulfill it—even if perhaps visible proof will be delayed in physical eyes; ultimately it will come…

The Rebbe teaches that every positive action has an eternal impact above. Even if results are not immediately visible, one should trust Hashem and continue their mission with confidence in their divinely granted abilities.
