בנועם קראתי מכתבן מיום ט' בכסלו עם דו"ח מפעולותיהן וההחלטות הטובות להגברת הפעולות בכמה שטחים מתכניתן. ויהי רצון
שחפץ
ה' בידן יצליח,

נועם ה' עליהן ומעשה ידיהן,
ללכת
מחיל אל חיל בהפצת היהדות ועניני', חדורים ברוח וחיות ואור החסידות.
ובודאי ינצלו במיוחד ימי סגולה אלה, גאולת רבנו הזקן, בעל התניא והשולחן ערוך, אשר הדגיש תפקידה הגדול של האשה הישראלית בתור
"עקרת
הבית", שהיא הקובעת במדה הכי חשובה כל עניני הבית והנהגת הבית.
וידוע
אשר במשפחת אדמו"ר הזקן הי' נוהג שהנשים היו יודעות ספר ומהן גם מלומדות – אף שזה הי' נדיר באותם הימים, כיון שלא הי' הכרח כל כך בתנאי החיים אז – כמסופר וגם מפורסם בספר הזכרונות של כ"ק מו"ח אדמו"ר.
וכיון שהודיעו אותנו את כל זאת, ובכמה פרטים, מוכח שהוא הוראה לכל אחד ואחת מאתנו. ואדרבה עוד ביתר שאת וביתר עוז בדורנו זה, שחינוך הבנות הוא צורך חיוני ממש, כמובן ופשוט.
וכן בטח ינצלו ימי החנוכה הבאים לאחרי ההכנה דחג הגאולה, ומענין לענין באותו ענין,
וכמאמר
חכמינו ז"ל "אף הן (הנשים) היו באותו הנס" – להתחזק בפעולות הפצת נר
מצוה
ותורה אור, מוארים באור וחיות חסידותיים, באופן דמוסיף והולך מוסיף ואור,
כהוראת
נרות חנוכה, שמוסיפים באורם מיום ליום, אף שבכל יום מספיק מספר הנרות כמו שהוא על פי הסדר, אבל צריך שיתוסף עוד נר למחרת וכן למחרתים וכולי, ומה שהי' מספיק תמול לא מספיק היום, ומה שמספיק היום אינו מן המדה ליום מחר. וקל להבין, שהרי
נצטוינו
להעלות בקודש. וכאמור כמה פעמים,
שציווי
התורה הוא גם נתינת כח מלמעלה למלא הציווי במילואו, ואין הדבר תלוי אלא ברצון.
ברכה לחג הגאולה בהיר ולימי חנוכה מאירים ולהצלחה מופלגה בכל הפעולות, שהן גם הצינורות להמשיך ולקבל ברכות ה' בכל המצטרך להן ולבני ביתן שיחיו, בגשמיות וברוחניות גם יחד, ובאופן דמוסיף והולך.

Nshei U'Bnos Chabad in our holy land, may Hashem's goodness be upon them—blessing and peace!
With pleasure I read your letter from the 9th of Kislev with a report of your activities and your good resolutions to increase efforts in several areas of your program.
May it be G‑d's will that His desire succeed in your hands, and may the pleasantness of Hashem be upon you and your handiwork—to go from strength to strength in spreading Judaism and its matters, imbued with the spirit, vitality, and light of Chassidus.
Certainly you will especially utilize these auspicious days—the redemption of our Rebbe the Alter Rebbe, author of Tanya and Shulchan Aruch—who emphasized the great role of the Jewish woman as akeres habayis (mainstay of the home), who determines all matters and conduct of the home in the most important way.
It is known that in the family of Admor Hazaken it was customary for women to be literate—and some were even learned—even though this was rare at that time since it was not so necessary under those living conditions—as is told and publicized in Sefer HaZikhronos by my father-in-law Admor.
Since all this has been made known to us, with many details, it is clear that this is a directive for each one of us. All the more so in our generation when girls’ education is truly essential—as is obvious and self-evident.
Likewise, you will surely utilize the days of Chanukah that follow after the preparation of Yud Tes Kislev—and from one matter to another within the same theme—as our Sages said: "Af hen (the women) were part of that miracle"—to strengthen activities spreading Ner Mitzvah v'Torah Or (the candle is a mitzvah and Torah is light), illuminated with chassidic light and vitality, increasing ever more as taught by Chanukah candles: each day we add more light. Even though each day's number suffices according to order, still another candle must be added tomorrow and again after that; what sufficed yesterday does not suffice today, what suffices today is not enough for tomorrow.
This is easily understood since we are commanded to ascend in holiness. As has been stated many times: a Torah command also grants power from Above to fulfill it completely; all depends only on willpower.
Blessings for a bright Yud Tes Kislev holiday and illuminating Chanukah days, with outstanding success in all activities—which are also channels to draw down and receive Hashem’s blessings for all their needs and those of their families—in both material and spiritual matters together—in an ever-increasing manner.
