לאחרי שתיקתם הארוכה נתקבל מכתבם מו' תמוז, ויה"ר שע"ד המבואר באגה"ת סוף פרק ט', במשל חבל הנפסק וחוזר וקושרו, הנה תוכפל עבודתם לכל הפחות כפי האמור שם כפול ומכופל* הן בכמות והן באיכות, ויקוים בהם ג"כ מרז"ל אסתר רבה בסופו, שיהי' השלום בריבוי, הברכה בריבוי כו' יעוין שם, ובודאי עשו בזה התחלה טובה לנצל ימי הגאולה די"ב וי"ג תמוז גאולת כ"ק מו"ח אדמו"ר הוא גאולתנו ופדות נפשנו...
עפ"י המבואר** בביאור מרז"ל דעיניו למטה ולבו למעלה, שגם עיניו למטה נוגע להעבודה, בכדי שלא יתרשם לאחר התפלה מח[זו] דהאי עלמא וכדבר חדש יפעול זה נפילה ממדריגתו, משא"כ כשכבר נוסה בזה שבמילא יוצא בשלום, רצוני להיות חזק בבטחוני שלאחרי שעברו את ... לא יתרשם עוד אף אחד מהם מענינים של מה בכך, ויפעלו ביחד מכאן ולהבא מבלי הפסק, ואדרבה בעלי' מדרגא לדרגא, שזהו יהי' כלי לקבלת פסק בי"ד של מעלה אשר בכל ענין של תורה יראת שמים ומדות טובות תהי' יד מקושריו והולכי בעקבותיו על העליונה (עיין קיצורים והערות לתניא דף קכ"ב בסופו).
בודאי יתיעצו בהקדם איך לנצל ימי החופש - שאז כמה מהבחורים זמנם פנוי יותר (אף שכמובן, פליאה בעיני כל מנהג (אותיות כו') דחופש ת' ואברכים באמצע הקיץ. ולו יישר חילי אבטליני') - והעיקר, שתלמידי ביה"ס פנוים ואינם תחת השפעת מורים-ות בלתי רצוים. וכדאי להתבונן בהאפשריות לאספם כמה ימים במשך החופש בגן וכיו"ב להתחיל בחלוקת ממתקים וכו', ואח"כ לספר ע"ד ביהמ"צ והגלות, שכאו"א מאמין בביאת המשיח ב"ב שכל ישראל יעשו תשובה, הוא יגאלנו, הכנה ע"ד אלול ועוד.
והרצאת דיני שבועות אלו ומנהגיהם וכו', ויש תקציב מיוחד על ההוצאות - ע"ד הרגיל - הכרוכות בזה.

Shalom u'Vrachah!
After your long silence, your letter from the 6th of Tammuz was received. May it be His will that, as explained in Iggeres HaTeshuvah at the end of chapter 9—using the parable of a rope that is broken and then retied—your work will be at least doubled as stated there, both in quantity and quality. May it also be fulfilled for you as our Sages say at the end of Esther Rabbah: peace in abundance, blessing in abundance, etc.—see there. Surely you have already made a good start to utilize the days of redemption—12th and 13th of Tammuz—the redemption of my revered father-in-law the Rebbe, which is our redemption and the redemption of our souls.
As explained in the commentary on our Sages' statement "his eyes below and his heart above," even his eyes below are relevant to his service; so that after prayer he should not be affected by sights of this world as if they are something new—which would cause a fall from his level. However, when one has already been tested in this area and comes through safely, I mean to say: Be strong in your confidence that after having overcome these matters once, none of them will affect you anymore. From now on you will work together without interruption; on the contrary—with ascent from level to level. This will be a vessel for receiving the ruling from the Heavenly court that in every matter of Torah, fear of Heaven, and good character traits—the hand of those connected to him and following in his footsteps will prevail (see Kitzurim v'He'aros L'Tanya p. 122 at the end).
Certainly you will soon consult about how to utilize the vacation days—when many boys have more free time (although it is indeed surprising to everyone—the custom [letters etc.] of vacation for tzt"z and Avrechim in mid-summer. "If only my strength were straight I would nullify it"). The main thing is that students are free and not under unwanted teachers' influence. It is worthwhile to consider possibilities such as gathering them for several days during vacation in a garden or similar place; begin with distributing treats etc., then tell them about Beis HaMikdash and exile—that everyone believes in the coming of Mashiach speedily when all Israel will do teshuvah; he will redeem us—preparation similar to Elul and more. Also teach these weeks' halachos and customs etc.; there is a special budget for expenses—as usual—involved with this.
With blessings for success and good news regarding all the above.
Summary
The Rebbe teaches that after overcoming minor setbacks, one's efforts can grow even stronger. He urges making use of summer break for positive spiritual influence on youth by organizing activities rooted in Torah values.
