איך וויל האפען אז דאס פעלט נאר אין אייער שרייבען אבער פאקטיש איז דער לימוד יהדות אויך געווען, און וועט מיר שרייבען בא דער קומענדער געלעגענהייט, און האפענטליך וועט איר אנהאלטען דעם פארבונד מיט די חבורות און וועט אויך פארגרעסערען די השפעה אין יהדות אויף זיי כי זה כל האדם, ווארום ידיעה אין תורה דארפמען געבען א לעבעדיקען מענשן, און א אידיש לעבען איז ווען עס איז פראן ואתם הדבקים בה' אלקיכם - איז דורך דעם - חיים כולכם, און דביקות אין הקב"ה קומט דורך תורה ידיעה הרגש און חיות ביהדות.
איך האף אז די ספרי חסידות און קונטרסים וואס איר האט איז דארט פראן כמעט פארטיגע מאטעריאל אויף צו מסביר זיין זיי אויף זייער שפראך, און די גרויסקייט פון דעם זכות איז ניט נויטיג צו מאריך זיין, ומדתו של הקב"ה מדה כנגד מדה אויף צו משפיע זיין אייך פיל נחת אידישן נחת חסידישן נחת פון אלע יו"ח ביחד עם זוגתו שיחיו.

I acknowledge receipt of your letter from the 27th of Menachem Av, which gave me great pleasure to read that you had the opportunity to influence groups of students and also a group of youth who are counselors—by influencing them, it affects the way they guide those who come to them.
However, I am surprised that among the studies you have learned with them, there is no mention of Jewish studies. Although there are no special books on this subject, no Jewish study can exist without this foundation. If in the old country one absorbed it naturally from the synagogue, from home, or even from the street, in our times everything depends on the counselor and influencer to instill Judaism. The street contradicts this, and the home is sometimes one way and sometimes another; in any case, one cannot rely on it.
I hope that this omission is only in your writing but that in practice Jewish studies were also included. Please write to me about this at your next opportunity. Hopefully you will maintain your connection with these groups and also increase your influence in Judaism upon them—for this is the whole person. Knowledge in Torah must be given to a living person, and a Jewish life exists when there is "Ve'atem ha'dveikim b'Hashem Elokeichem" (And you who cleave to Hashem your G‑d)—through this you are all alive today—and attachment to Hashem comes through Torah knowledge, feeling, and vitality in Judaism.
I hope that the Chassidus books and pamphlets you have contain almost ready-made material to explain these things to them in their language. The greatness of this merit does not need elaboration; and the measure of Hashem is measure for measure—to grant you much nachas: Jewish nachas and chassidic nachas from all your children together with your wife.
