שלום וברכה!
בקשר עם ימי הפורים הממשמשים ובאים, הנני בזה לעורר את תשומת לבבכם לאחד ממאורעות פורים, אשר יש ללמ[ו]ד ממנו הוראה בעבודתכם ועבודתנו.
מספרים חז"ל, כי בשעה שיצאה הגזירה להשמיד וכו' ר"ל, יצא מרדכי ברחובות עיר וכינס כ"ב אלף תינוקות של בית רבן ללמדם תורה ויחד אתם לשפוך לב לפני אביהם שבשמים בתפלה ותחנונים, ומסירות נפש גדולה השריש בלבותם, עד שקראו פה אחד: בין במות בין בחיים עמך אנו, ועל ידי זה נקרע גזר הדין ונהפוך הוא ממות לחיים ומיגון לשמחה - בחיי הגוף וחיי הנפש גם יחד.
על כל אחד ואחת להתבונן, אשר מרדכי הצדיק שהי' מראשי הסנהדרין, ראש לכל הצדיקים, כמשה בדורו, הנה אף על פי כן, יצא בכבודו ובעצמו ללַמד תורה ביראת שמים ומסירות נפש לילדים קטנים תינוקות של בית רבן.
על כל אחד ואחת מאתנו לזכור תמיד: אל ידמה אדם בנפשו כי מעמדו ומצבו פוטר אותו מלטפל בחינוך הקטנים, וכיצד יבטל ממעשיו ועסקיו הרבים, עליו להכיר כי חשוב מכל הוא לקבוע, על כל פנים, חלק מזמנו, ולהקדיש על כל פנים חלק מכוחותיו לכיבוש החינוך של הדור הצעיר, כדי לנטוע בלבם יראת שמים ומסירות נפש לכל הקדוש - הקדוש לנו מאז היינו לממלכת כהנים וגוי קדוש - במעמד הר סיני.
ואז רק אז בטוחים נהי' כי הדור הצעיר יהי' נאמן לה' ולתורתו, ובדרך ממילא גם קיום עמנו יהי' בטוח, וגדול כח עבודה קדושה ומסורה זו, לבטל כל הקטרוגים והגזירות, ועם ישראל ישכון בטח בדד.
ואני תקוה כי תלכו מחיל אל חיל להיות מעלין בקודש בעלי' אחר עלי', מתאים לדרישת השעה.
בברכת הצלחה בעבודתכם ובעיקר - להרבות מספר בני ובנות ישראל המושפעים על ידכם כמה פעמים ככה. ויהי רצון שיתקיימו בכם מדותיו הטובות של הקב"ה בהשפע בפירוי ורבוי, הפדות ברבוי הברכה ברבוי השבח ברבוי,

To all those participating in the work of proper education in general, and especially to those involved in the education of young boys and girls of Israel—may Hashem be upon you for life—Shalom u'Vrachah!
In connection with the approaching days of Purim, I wish to draw your attention to one of the events of Purim from which we can learn a lesson for your work and ours.
Our Sages relate that when the decree was issued to destroy (G‑d forbid), Mordechai went out into the streets and gathered twenty-two thousand children to teach them Torah. Together with them he poured out his heart before their Father in Heaven in prayer and supplication, instilling great mesirus nefesh (self-sacrifice) in their hearts until they all proclaimed as one: "Whether in death or in life, we are with Your people." Through this, the harsh decree was torn up and it was transformed from death to life and from mourning to joy—in both physical and spiritual life.
Each one of us should reflect that Mordechai the Tzaddik, who was among the heads of the Sanhedrin—the leader of all tzaddikim, like Moshe in his generation—even so, he personally went out to teach Torah with awe of Heaven and mesirus nefesh to young children.
Each one of us must always remember: A person should not imagine that his position or status exempts him from being involved in educating young children. Even if it means setting aside his many activities and affairs, he must recognize that above all else he should dedicate at least part of his time—and at least part of his energy—to conquering the education of the younger generation. The goal is to plant in their hearts awe of Heaven and mesirus nefesh for everything holy—holy to us since we became a kingdom of priests and a holy nation at Mount Sinai.
Then—and only then—can we be certain that the younger generation will remain faithful to Hashem and His Torah. Consequently, our nation's existence will also be secure. The power of this holy and devoted work is great enough to nullify all accusations and decrees so that Am Yisrael may dwell securely alone.
I hope you will go from strength to strength, ascending ever higher as required by these times.
With blessings for success in your work—especially to increase many times over the number of Jewish boys and girls influenced by you.
May it be G‑d's will that you embody His good attributes abundantly: redemption in abundance, blessing in abundance, praise in abundance.
Summary
The Rebbe teaches that every Jew—regardless of status—must personally invest time and energy into educating children with awe of Heaven and self-sacrifice. This commitment secures our future as a people and brings down abundant Divine blessings.
