ובעמדי תחת רושם שיחתנו בעת ביקורו כאן, בטוחני אשר הפעולות אודותן כותב במכתבו שעומד לעשות, וביחוד בשטח
מיהו יהודי
, הוציא לפועל, ובמרץ בו חונן מההשגחה העליונה. ותקותי שאינו מסתפק בפעולה חד פעמית, אלא שונה ומשלש כפי הצורך.
ועל דרך הצחות, כיון שתפקידו בהנהלת החינוך והתרבות, הרי פעולה האמורה היא בשטח החינוך במשמעו העמוק והאמיתי, חינוך הנוגע במצפון נפש היחיד והכלל וכל האומה,

, הרי מלמדנו שהשתדלות יהודי אחד אפילו, באם הוא בעד האמת הצדק והיושר, ובתוקף המתאים לבלי חת מגזרות וחוקים של בני אדם, סוף סוף פועלת פעולתה ומצליחה.
ויהי רצון אשר יהי' האמור שעה אחת קודם ויקויים גם בזה

אויביו ישלים אתו.
שהרי בודאי יוזמי החוק האומלל האמור והמגינים עליו יודעים אשר מתנכל הוא בקיום עמנו, אלא שמפני טעמים שונים ומשונים לעת עתה לא שינו עמדתם האומללה, וה' הטוב יאיר עיניהם ולבם.
בכבוד ובברכת חג הגאולה ובשורות טובות בכל האמור.

With pleasure I received your letter from the 5th of Sivan, even though it reached me after some delay. Standing under the impression of our conversation during your visit here, I am confident that the activities you wrote about in your letter that you intend to undertake—especially regarding Mihu Yehudi—you have already carried out with the energy granted to you by Divine Providence.
And I hope that you are not content with a one-time action but repeat and triple it as needed. In a lighthearted way: since your role is in the administration of education and culture, this activity is indeed within the realm of education in its deepest and truest sense—education that touches the conscience of both the individual soul and the collective soul of our entire nation. As Rabbeinu Saadia Gaon expressed: "Our nation is only a nation by virtue of Torah." And true culture negates and nullifies—as Torah puts it—the culture of sinful people.
And on this auspicious day, 13 Tammuz—the day of redemption of my father-in-law the Rebbe (I hope you know today’s Torah portion)—it teaches us that even one Jew’s effort, if it is for truth, justice, and uprightness, and with unwavering strength not intimidated by human decrees or laws, will ultimately have its effect and succeed.
May it be G‑d’s will that all this be fulfilled as soon as possible—and also that "even his enemies will make peace with him." For surely those who initiated and defend this unfortunate law know it threatens our nation’s existence; yet for various reasons they have not yet changed their unfortunate stance. May the good L‑rd enlighten their eyes and hearts.
With respect and blessings for Chag HaGeulah (the Festival of Redemption) and good news in all matters mentioned above.
