מכתבי מענה מאז למכתבו בטח נתקבל מכבר. ועל של עתה באתי בקשר עם ההכנות לזמן הלימודים הבע"ל, והרי הכל בהשגחה פרטית ובכלל זה מה שימים אלו הגיע לידי מאמרו באנגלית בענין מיזוג גלויות במה שנוגע לשטח החינוך.
שתקותי חזקה שגם להבא יעזור למוסדות בתי ספר החב"דיים בכל התלוי בו, ובאופן דמוסיף והולך כמו בכל עניני קדושה שנצטוינו להעלות בקדש, לא אמנע מלהביע רגשי תודתי לכ' - בשגם זה למותר, אבל לזירוז שאני, ואין מזרזין אלא למזורזין.
ומובן שבזה ג"כ הנקודה שלא יקפידו כ"כ על התעודות וכו', וכמו שהדגשתי כמה פעמים, שאף שכמובן הצדק אתו שככל שתגדל רמת הידיעות והכושר של המחנך כן תגדל השפעתו על המחונכים - ופשוט שגם אני מזרז להנשמעים לקולי בשיפור והשתלמות במקצוע ההוראה - הרי מאידך גיסא חשובה לא פחות, ואפשר - יותר, ההתמסרות וההתלהבות לתפקיד הק', חינוך על טהרת הקדש.
בקישור עם מאמרו המדגיש ערך גישה המתאימה לרוחם ורגשות לבם של
המחונכים והצורך לעודדם ולחזק רוחם וכו', תקותי חזקה שבודאי נוכח בעצמו על ידי שלוחיו אשר מיזוג בני העדות השונות בבתי ספר החב"דיים נעשה באופן הכי טוב ונועם, ובפעילות הכי גדולה, נוסף על החדרת אהבת התורה ומצותי' מבלי להתחשב עם ההמונים שמבחוץ ואפילו עם הסביבה שבפנים, שגם את זה מדגיש במאמרו האמור.
והרי זוהי ג"כ אחת הנקודות של שיטת חב"ד שהדגישה תמיד וגם עתה מתבטאת בפעולות אנשי חב"ד בכל השטחים ולכל לראש בשטח החינוך.
וכנ"ל תקותי שגם בלי מכתבי הי' יחסו כאמור, ולא נצרך אלא להעדפה כסגנון בעל התניא. ותודתי מראש בכל האמור.

בעתו הגיעני נוסח ההוראה ממשרד החינוך לכל בתי הספר בקשר עם שנת המאתים להסתלקות הבעל שם טוב ז"ל, וכן חומר ההסברה. וכיון שח"י אלול, על פי המסורה מדור לדור, הוא יום הולדת הבעש"ט, וכמדומה שאז יהי' התחלת שנת הלימודים הבע"ל, תקותי שיהי' לזה המשך גם אז, ובאגף הדתי בהדגשה מיוחדת, אשר ההשגחה העליונה העמידתו בראשה. ואף על פי שאיני יודע חנוכו הפרטי בהנוגע לתורת החסידות, אבל כמדומה שהזכיר בשיחתנו שהוא חניך פראנקפורט, והרי הראב"ד דפ"פ הי' בעל ההפלאה, תלמיד תלמידו וממלא מקומו של הבעש"ט, הרב המגיד. ועכ"פ - זה מכבר איגלאי מלתא שלא הי' כל יסוד לחששות והכל מודים שתורת החסידות הכניסה רוח חיים ביהדות לכל ענפי' ומכל שכן בשמירת התורה והמצות בהידור וכו' כידוע ומפורסם לכל.

My previous letter in response to your letter has surely already reached you. I am now writing regarding preparations for the upcoming school year, and as everything is by Divine Providence, it is no coincidence that during these days your English article on the integration of exiles as it relates to education came into my hands.
I have strong hope that you will continue to assist Chabad school institutions in every way possible, increasing your efforts as we are commanded to always ascend in matters of holiness. I cannot refrain from expressing my gratitude to you—even though it may be unnecessary—since encouragement is always beneficial, especially for those already motivated.
It is understood that one should not be overly concerned with certificates and similar matters. As I have emphasized several times: although it is true that the more knowledgeable and skilled an educator is, the greater their influence on students—and I certainly encourage those who heed my voice to improve their teaching skills—on the other hand, no less important (and perhaps even more so) is devotion and enthusiasm for the sacred task of education in purity and holiness.
In connection with your article emphasizing an approach tailored to the spirit and feelings of students and the need to encourage and strengthen them, I am confident that you have personally witnessed through your emissaries how the integration of children from various backgrounds in Chabad schools is accomplished in the best way—with pleasantness and great activity—alongside instilling love for Torah and its commandments without regard for outside influences or even internal environment, which you also highlighted in your article.
This is also one of the key points of Chabad's approach—which has always emphasized this principle—and continues today through the activities of Chabad members in all areas, especially education. As mentioned above, I hope that even without my letter there would have been such an attitude; my words serve only as added encouragement in the style of the Baal HaTanya. My thanks in advance for all this.
In due time I received a copy of instructions from the Ministry of Education to all schools regarding the bicentennial year since the passing of the Baal Shem Tov z"l, as well as explanatory materials. Since 18 Elul—according to tradition passed down through generations—is the birthday of the Baal Shem Tov (and it seems this will coincide with the start of the upcoming school year), I hope this will continue then as well, especially emphasized in your department which Divine Providence has placed under your leadership.
Although I do not know your personal background regarding Chassidus study, it seems you mentioned in our conversation that you were educated in Frankfurt. The Rav Av Beit Din there was the Baal HaHafla'ah—a student’s student and successor of the Baal Shem Tov’s disciple, Rabbi Dovber (the Maggid). In any case—it has long been revealed that there was never any basis for concerns; everyone now agrees that Chassidus brought new vitality into Judaism across all its branches—and certainly enhanced observance of Torah and mitzvos with beauty—as is well known to all.
