In response to your letter from the 3rd of Tavo and the previous one, I hope that by the time you receive this letter things have already improved and, therefore, without confusion you will continue to strengthen your holy work despite the local custom which is contrary to healthy logic—even basic human intellect, let alone intellect of holiness—that specifically at the end of Elul and in Tishrei they reduce efforts in education according to Torah purity. Even though, based on your and Reb Shlomo Matsov's letters, it seems this should not be done, it is known that although "ones Rachmana patrei" (one forced is exempt), we do not say "as if he did it," and ultimately time is not being utilized regarding those influenced.

It is understood that my intention is not to rebuke but to prompt further reflection; perhaps the time has come to improve this matter at least somewhat.

I hope that even though I did not point this out to them directly, those among their students who are making Aliyah to Eretz HaKodesh will prompt them repeatedly to connect there with Anash and Chabad institutions—especially the Tomchei Temimim Yeshiva in Lod where there are many Sephardic students. It would be good if, in addition to the letters surely given to these students, they themselves would write to the yeshiva administration in Lod about the nature of these students who made Aliyah as they already know them.

Regarding what you wrote about the building and Beit Rivkah: surely after a few days Rabbi A.G. will come here and I will ask him for his reasons for objecting since you did not write them.

Concerning your visit to America about which you write that it may be possible to find someone to fill your place during your stay here—and apparently from your letter expenses are also not an obstacle—if so, begin making efforts but without excitement. In general one should consider which time is more suitable: Yud-Tes Kislev or Yud Shevat; perhaps how successful these efforts are will itself indicate what should be done...

As we approach the new year coming upon us and all Israel for good and blessing, I hereby express my blessing to you and all yours: a blessing for a good inscription and sealing for a good and sweet year both materially and spiritually.
