מכתבו קבלתי, אף כי באיחור זמן, בו כותב על דבר עניני ישיבת תורת אמת.
ולכל לראש רצוני להביע ת"ח בעד שימת לבבו והתענינותו, שבודאי לא רק ענין של רגש בזה, שגם זה עיקר, אלא עושה בכיוון למעשה בפועל. והרי אפשרות למר באופן ישר וגם על ידי חבריו בעבודה וידידיו לעשות ולפעול בזה רבות.
לגודל הענין, הרי גם על פי כתבו, למותר לעורר בזה את מר, כי אם להזכיר

שהי' שגור בפי כ"ק מו"ח אדמו"ר, שבנוגע געלט וכדומה קען מען ממלא זיין, שאפשר לפרוע חוב למחר ומחרתים, אבל בנוגע לקלוט עוד תלמיד ועוד תלמיד, הרי ראשית, כל יום עולם מלא הוא בענין לימוד תורה וחינוך על פי תורה, שאי אפשר להוציא חובת יום אתמול,
שכל
יום ויום עביד עבידתי', ודיו להשביע את עצמו למלא מסת העבודה שצריכה להיעשות ביום זה; ועוד, ובפרט בתקופתנו זו, הרי מובן שצריך לקלוט תיכף ומיד את כל המביע רצון להיכנס למוסד חינוך כשר, כי כעבור שעת רצון זו מי יודע וכו' וד"ל.
ויהי רצון שכל אחד מאתנו, בתוככי כלל ישראל, יעשה בעניני חינוך על טהרת הקודש, ובעניני תורה ומצות, באופן המתאים להוראת ימי חנוכה הבע"ל, ובמסירה ונתינה כהוראת רבנו הזקן אשר ימים אלו חג הגאולה שלו, ומתוך שמחה וטוב לבב.

מהעבודה". ובודאי שאין צורך לדכוותי' דמר להערה שאין גיל פרישה מעבודה בהפצת היהדות, ובמיוחד בשטח החינוך. ואדרבה, על פי
ההוראה
דמעלין בקודש צריך להיות היפך דפרישה, היינו הוספה ועלי'. ואפילו אם תמצא לומר שבמוסד מסוים או במשרה מסוימת ישנן הגבלות המצריכות פרישה וכו', הרי

כל הארץ לפניך, ומי כמוהו יודע גודל האחריות ורציניות המצב בהפצת היהדות המסורתית בלי פשרות, ובפרט בנוגע להנוער, ואין הזמן מוכשר כלל וכלל לפרישה וכו' כי אם אדרבה להוספה יותר ויותר, והובטחנו הבא

I received your letter, though it arrived after some delay, in which you write about matters concerning Yeshivas Toras Emes. First and foremost, I wish to express my thanks for your attention and involvement—which is certainly not only an emotional matter (though that too is important), but also leads to practical action. You have the ability directly, as well as through your colleagues and friends in this work, to accomplish much in this area.
Given the importance of the matter—and as you yourself wrote—there is no need to urge you further except to recall a saying often repeated by my revered father-in-law the Rebbe: Regarding money and similar things, one can always make up later; a debt can be paid tomorrow or the next day. But when it comes to enrolling another student—even just one—each day is a world unto itself in Torah study and education according to Torah; one cannot fulfill yesterday’s obligation today. Each day has its own unique task, and it suffices for a person to commit himself to fulfilling that day’s required work. Moreover—and especially in our times—it is clear that every child who expresses a desire to enter a kosher educational institution must be accepted immediately; if this opportune moment passes, who knows what will be?
May it be G‑d’s will that each of us—within all of Israel—act in matters of education on the purest level of holiness and in Torah and mitzvos in a manner fitting for the teachings of these upcoming days of Chanukah and with dedication as taught by our Alter Rebbe, whose days are his festival of redemption—all with joy and gladness of heart.

P.S. Of course I paid close attention to the content of your letter. In concluding my letter above I also respond to your note about reaching retirement age this year from your job. Certainly there is no need for me to point out that there is no retirement age when it comes to spreading Judaism—especially in education. On the contrary: according to the principle of "ascending in holiness," there should be more involvement rather than less. Even if one must retire from a particular institution or position due to regulations, as Scripture says: "The whole land is before you." Who better than you knows the great responsibility and seriousness involved in spreading traditional Judaism uncompromisingly—especially regarding youth? Now is not at all a time for withdrawal but rather for increased activity; we are assured that "one who comes to purify"—and as our Alter Rebbe precisely notes: "to become pure oneself and purify others"—is given abundant assistance.
Finally—and most pleasantly—I was happy to read in your letter about the definite approval regarding the discussed grant for Yeshivas Toras Emes; thank you especially.
Summary
