With pleasure I have just received your telegram announcing the birth of a daughter—mazal tov... I am happy to see the reward for you and your wife, may you both live, for your involvement in the field of kosher education, bringing the hearts of Jewish sons and daughters closer to our Father in Heaven. For anyone who teaches another's child Torah, Scripture considers it as if he gave birth to them. Therefore, it is understood that this is a segulah (spiritual merit) for having sons and daughters. May it be His will that over time you will merit 'a daughter first is a good sign for sons.'
